"N" is for Normal
"A/T" Is for Automatic Transmission
"P" is for Power
When "P" is selected a light that says "POWER"
comes on, it is just under the speedometer.
This switch is for the automatic transmission, it changes the shift points in the transmission for loaded or towing conditions when you need more power.

I will assume you have the same thing as in a Suzuki Grand Vitara :
N : Neutral : use this when you tow your vehicle.
4H : Use it in normal road conditions, highway, etc.
4H Lock : Use it on offroad, snow, sand, ... etc
4L Lock : Use when you are stuck on snow or sand, BE CAREFUL, this mode is only for difficult situations, do not exceed 25 MPH, and do not use it in normal conditions.
Hope this help.

Look between the drivers door and the car at the hinge ends.Look at the tubing joining the door with the car,and pull it back to check the connection at the plug. You may have to go inside the car and pull the kick panel off,and find the plug to the harness, and check for bad connection there,Also check the ground on the doors.I hope this helps, but a test light would help if you had one to test voltage on both sides of the harness plug. And test the voltage at the motors, and switches.

I have locked my only key in the boot of my r reg saab 95... I think I might be able to drill into the reflector next to the lock in the boot and access the cable release ... but... is this feasible and where might I drill the hole? thanks.. Gary
