SOURCE: how to change oil pressure sending unit on jeep

First things first do you have a repair manual? If you don't have one get one, Changing the unit is realitively simple, you just disconnect the battery, disconnect the oil pressure sending unit's electrical connector, remove the sending unit, now most sending units are small and look like a short chubby spark plug with an electrical blade connector on the end of it. simply use a wrench to loosin and remove and install by screwing in and tightening and reconnecting the electrical connecter then the battery and your as good as new!

I just bought my Jeep Gr Cher Laredo V8 5.2l 4X4 in April 2011. I was doing a VIN check on it for possible accidents and came across that there is a RECALL for this make, model, and year for the FLOOR SHIFTER. Chrysler Daimler will fix it free for you if your's hasnt already been fixed. You can look it up in search as "VINxxx recalls" and "Auto Safety Recalls (make, model, year)" also. Hope this helps.I had noticed the problem but had NO idea there was a recall for it! Good luck!

My 2003 grand jeep cherokee laredo the light came on and said transmission overheat what could be the problem

Although this may be due to a transmission trying to fail, it is more likely to be a problem with the transmission cooler or connection hoses. You will have to inspect them from underneath the vehicle. Check the fluid level to see if it has lost fluid too but follow the instructions in the owner's manual as there is a specified procedure for checking this and ignoring it will lead to a false reading.
