the guy is right it is that joint have the same problem you can get under the truck and try shakin the joint that looks just like a ... u... it is right behind the tire comin out of the front axle it will wiggle probably bad..

when you take off the front wheels, you can see behind the hub assembly. there should be 4 or 5 star style bolts that hold the hub in place. you can either break them loose on the truck or in a vise. you will need a star socket,( or it may need a 12 point socket?). there is also a big nut in front of the hub that will take a lot of torque to remove (300-500lbs). the axle is probably going to be rusted also, so you will have to work it out. it is easier to buy a hub, some come in pieces, so you'll have to have them pressed together by a machine shop and them put them on. i am getting ready to do this on on my dually and the axle nut is torqued to 500lbs. be careful and i hope this helps you. andy

can it not be done without removing the hub ?? dont think you can get hub off without removing the track control ball joint?do you have the right tools??
