There is a hot wire to the radio for the display, you need to check and see if it has power. If it does, then the display is bad and you should replace the whole radio.. Look on Ebay
Ford 500 and Lincoln have the Same electrical Systems, Check Radio Relay under Hood in Relay Center, Usually You can switch with another one for trial, if works then replace the suspect Relay, If not then You have a Convenience Monitor Module Problem that Computer cost about 200.00 to replace, used one Maybe 100 if you search Bone yards
Try unhooking one of the battery cables and leave it off for at least 20
minutes. When you hook it back up the computers should re-boot. That
has solved problems for me with heater, interior lites, power windows,
AC, day time running lites, power mirrors, fast idle, rough or slow
shifting, CD player, and wipers on GM autos and S-10 PU and Dodge
trucks. None of the switches are connected to the device they control
anymore. The switch tells the computer to open the window and the
computer send a signal to the window motor. When the computer gets
confused strange things will happen or not happen. Of course you may
have to re-set your radio stations.
hi check the batt first to make sure it is charged. second check your ground cable. and third check the main ignition fuse under the hood. it will be a very high amp fuse.
First you need to UN DO your first hook up. Put it back the way it was before you splice. You have evendently spliced the wrong wires. Without schematics colors and stripe won't mean anything.
Be thankful you haven't damaged anything or burn something out in your control module.
You need to find the schematic wiring for the radio.
Or if you have a taple player in the radio, by the tape adapter for CD player. Until you can find out what wires PRE AMP the tape player then you can splice.
YOU NEED TO REPLACE THE MINIATURE BULB THAT LITES UP THE DISPLAY, YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE THE RADIO FROM THE CAR AND THEN REMOVE THE TOP SHEET METAL COVER ON THE RADIO, YOU WILL SEE THE BULB SOCKET PLUGGED INTO THE BACK OF THE DISPLAY.
