2013 F-150 5.0 just replaced water pump at 116000 miles and now the cooling fans will come on and run on high once truck gets up to normal operating temperature, the fans are loud and noisy and will run continually until u turn off truck and it cools down, this wasn't happening before changing water pump, any suggested fixes for this problem?
Stuck relay or make sure coolant temp sensor plug is tight.
Any suggested fixes for this problem? Yeah , view a wiring diagram to see what all is involved in turning on the cooling fans an test with a DVOM - digital volt ohmmeter . Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free-tsb/ Enter vehicle info. year make ,model an engine . Under system click on engine , then under subsystem click on cooling fans. Click the search button then the blue link . Looking at the diagram i see three relay's - fan control , high fan control , lo fan control . All three relay's are commanded on by ther PCM - engine computer . Checking for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's with a scan tool . Double check your work - pinched wiring etc...... check for high speed fan relay stuck contacts .
SOURCE: My cooling fan runs continually since I got my fuel pump changed?
posible low coolant level or wire to coolant temp senser shorted
SOURCE: 1994 sonoma stops running when it warms up
Replace you fuel Injector pump and check for any bad or clogged injectors. make sure idle adjustment screw is properly set
SOURCE: truck cuts off while driving down the road.
Replace the TFI module. Ford back in 1986 thur 1993 had problems like the one you wrote about. TFI module gets hot and shuts car or truck off then when it cools sometmies starts and sometimes not.
SOURCE: 1996 Blazer w/V-6 Vortec dies at op-temp. will restart. ongoing
I WOULD STILL CHECK THE FUEL PRESSURE.IF ALL IS GOOD.ENGINE GETTING TOO HOT WILL SHUT OFF.ALSO A LEAKING INTAKE GASKET WILL CAUSE STALLING WHEN HOT.
SOURCE: cooling fans in op until engine is shut down
Check out clarks-garage.com he has a complete troubleshooting guide for your cooling system along with a schematic. In short, check the low speed resistor on the firewall. Should be around one ohm.
