SOURCE: sun visors flop down and obsruct the view on my 2007 kia optima
Both of my visors broke -- first the one right after purchasing (had dealership repair) then the other (still under warantee, so dealership repaired). The lady said the 2007 Optimas had a "bad batch" of visors and many needed to be replaced. Fine. Now the driver's side broke again. It just needs to be replaced. I love the Kia, hate the visors. Not a bad payoff for the reasonable price. So far, the only thing that has broken.

most likely a defect. call the dealer and see if toyota has issued a recall on the visor and you might have it replaced for free. other than that, there's always the junkyard.

SOURCE: Sun visor on driver's side
I have a 2007 Sonata and the driver's side sun visor broke. I called the dealership where I purchased the car, and was told that they only cover it for 5 years/60,000 miles. So if your's is broken, get it in there before the warranty expires. Otherwise the cost is around $80 for the visor unit.
SOURCE: Sun visor on 2005 Nissan Murano won't stay up/falls down
go to a dealership with a screwdriver and your broken sun visor in hand. take out a nissan murano with an interior that matches yours for a test drive and perform a switch on the sun visors. install your broken visor in place of the one that works, and take the one that works out of the car that your test driving.
Problem solved, its free, and you didn't have to get creative to fix the problem. Plus, they can't blame you for a broken visor considering that they fail in these cars all the time. You're welcome!!!
