SOURCE: 2002 Sunfire TCC Solenoid replacement

hi..the transaxle converter clutch . tcc. uses a solenoid -operated valve located in the automatic transaxle to mechanically couple the engine flywheel to the output shaft of the transmission through the torque converter.that reduces the slippage loss in the converter.reducing emissions.but check the vss first.which is called the vehicle speed sensor.they both work together .if the vss is not working right it wont call on the tcc.
check this out..
thank u..

SOURCE: IAC Valve Location - 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The idle air control valve is located on the back of the throttle body. It has an oval electrical connector and two torx screws holding it in. Unplug the connector, remove the two screws then lightly tap the body with a soft faced mallet to loosen it from the body.
Once you have it out and prior to installing a new valve clean the seat inside the throttle body where the idle control fits. This must be very clean! Installation is in the reverse order.
To save some cash, pull the valve out and clean it with throttle body cleaner, this usually fixes the problem for quite a while.
Good luck and hope this helps.

Where is the tcc ssolenoid in 2000 caravan?

the solenoid on most cars, is in side the transmission
its hydraulic, and needs to be there.
(i know one exception)
this is simple , you LOOK at tranny, and if you dont see 2 or more soleniods in plain site, they are above the oil pan on the valve body
some are ABOVE this body (PITA place)
point 2 what transmission do you have some have 3 choices.

Replacing shift solenoid

You shouldn't have to remove valve body, the solenoid should be on the valve body, held in by a single bolt, with a wire plugged into the solenoid.

How do I change shifting cylinoid A in the trans of my 2000 jeep grand cherokee?

If you have the 4.0 engine the "shift solenoid" is for overdrive and also one for tcc ingagement. There is however a govenor pressure solenoid and sensor that will affect shifting. If you have a v-8 engine then you have a solenoid block that contains all 6 solenoids for the transmission in one package and is mounted on the top of valve body inside the transmission. If you can tell me what the diagnostic codes and symptoms are I may can help you fix it without buying expensive parts you dont need.

My 1996 Grand Am. sets code P1864. Car will not shift into overdrive. I was told that the TCC solenoid is at fault. Where is the TCC solenoid located.

It is located in the transmission under the valve body cover on the drivers side of the transmission. It is the solenoid on the bottom left hand side of the valve body. I had to take the suspension and frame support off and lower the transmission before I could remove to valve body cover. A retainer clip holds the TCC solenoid in place.

Thanks.

Where is the shift solenoid on a 99 jeep cherokee

There are four solenoids and they are inside the transmission, you must remove the pan from the bottom of the transmission and they are right there bolted to the transmission valve body assembly.

My 1996 grand cherokee transmissom is real slow

My jeep does the same thing but from 1st to 2nd i was told the solenoid valve in my valve body sticks until the fluid is warmed up and opens up.Cheapest thing to do is let your jeep warm up for a little bit to let the fluid cycle.

I have a 1997 Jeep Grand cherokee with code 1762

1762 has to do with too high or too low voltage from the governor pressure solenoid valve in the transmission.
To test this code accurately, you would need to have Chrysler connect their scan tool to it. With that, they can check the whole system.
The governor pressure sensor measures output pressure of the governor pressure solenoid valve. It is located in the governor body on the valve body transfer plate.
It is not very difficult to replace, 83248769.gif
