Check the fuse and relay, you can jumper the relay then listen for the pump if it runs check the wiring from there to the ECM. Double check your installation and look at the wiring where it goes from frame to tank. I hope this helps, take care

Just to add, the fuse for switch side of fuel pump relay and relay itself are in the battery junction block, under the hood. Your owners manual should have fuse block info. If no owners manual, fleet.ford.com should have your owners manual, it's free to read online.

The fuel pump module might be faulty or its been disconnected. Check all your wire connections from the pump. Also check the fuel pump relay

SOURCE: my truck 1999 ford expidition was at idle and just

MAYBE NOT. SWAP THE WIPER RELAY FOR THE FUEL PUMP RELAY TO SEE IF THE PUMP TURNS ON. IF IT DOES NOT OPERATE, THEN WHILE SOMEONE TURNS THE KEY TO THE ON POSITION, BANG ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FUEL TANK AND REPEAT THIS AND YOU SHOULD HEAR THE PUMP AFTER A FEW JOLTS TO THE PUMP MOTOR. IF THE PUMP DOES TURN ON, THEN DRIVE IT TO WHERE EVER YOU PLAN ON HAVING IT REPAIRED. THIS MAY ONLY RUN ONE OR TWO TIMES USING THIS METHOD. IF YOU NEED TO BANG ON THE TANK TO JAR THE PUMP LOOSE, THEN IT NEEDS TO BE CHANGED. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED. THANK YOU FOR USING FIX-YA AND THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR AN HONEST RATING. BEST OF LUCK

SOURCE: Intermittent fuel pump engagement when turning key - 2001 Taurus

try cleaning the connector that goes to the fuel pump, sometimes they corrode on inside. If that does not fix, test the wires feeding fuel pump with a multi meter until the condition shows itself again, if voltage drops to zero or very low then wiring problem, if voltage is unchanged with problem and fuel pump is not working and connectors are all clean, try replacement of fuel pump.

SOURCE: turn key wont start- it cranks

check plug for fuel pump in harness near gas tank for corrosion and it may also have seoerated wire where it comes out of connecter the seperation may be from pulling on wires when pump replaced insulation may look alright because it streaches.

2001 Ford Taurus replaced fuel pump and filter. Engine turns but no crank. Inertia switch was down.. Turn key and hear pump makes running sounds.... No crank. Popped switch out..turned key and no sounds...

Could be a bad switch. Use a ohm meter to check each switch position. Use fuel pressure gauge to test for correct pressure. Use noid light to check for injector pulse. Check for ingnition spark.

1994 Ford Taurus 3.0 V6 no fuel pressure

Can you hear the pump whirring noise when you turn the key on? A totally stopped up filter can ruin a pump quickly, but it could be the fuel pump inertia cut-off switch in the trunk needs reset by pushing down the red button. don-ohio

Problem with 2000 ford taurus fuel pump

If the pump is running but not pumping gas, it's a bad pump or a clogged filter sock in the tank

Ford excape 2005 want turn over if I spray start fluid in it it will but cuts offI

Sounds like the fuel pump in the tank is not coming on.
There can be other reasons for this besides a bad fuel pump.
Stand by the rear of your car near the tank, and take the fuel filler cap off. Have someone turn the key to on (not cranking). You should hear the pump come on for about 2-3 seconds to pressurize the fuel lines, then shut back off. If you hear it, then pump is working. If you don't hear it, you'll need your fuel pump checked. It or the circuit is not working.

Car wont start when cold have replace starter switch battery and altenator and starter, have used grismer tire and repair with no fix yet what am i not doing right

You would change the fuel filter, crank sensor and run a can of fuel injector cleaner in a tank of gas, you may also want to remove the Throttle Body cover, get a can of carb cleaner and spray the heck out of the TB do this while running throttleing it, dont let it idle, it will die out on you.

Keep in mind that the starting problems typically come from problems with the battery, starter, fuel pump, or ignition. Checking these things in your Ford Taurus can be done with a few automotive tools. Once you have isolated the problem, you can decide to fix it yourself or take it to a professional:
1. Place the key in the ignition and turn to the "On" position. The dashboard on your Taurus should light up. If it does not, it indicates that there is a problem with your battery.
2. Open the hood of your Taurus and check the battery for corrosion or loose connections. For corrosion, clean the connections. Tighten any loose connections. Attach a voltmeter to the battery. The red lead goes on the positive terminal and the black on the negative. On a Taurus, 12.5 volts or better are needed to power the car, and between 13.8 to 14.5 to run the alternator. If the voltmeter shows 12.5, then the battery is okay; if it is between 12.5 to 13.8 then the alternator needs to be replaced.
3. Turn the key in the ignition. If you hear a clicking noise, your starter is faulty and needs replacing. If there is no noise, the ignition switch could be the culprit.
4. Turn the key in the ignition on and off for three seconds, then on again. Listen to the Taurus. In a Ford Taurus, the fuel pump operates for only two seconds. When the key is turned on, you should hear a sound similar to a growl or "rrr." If you do not hear the sound, your fuel pump is not working properly to send fuel through your car.
5. Remove a spark plug from your Taurus and lay the wire to a metal surface. If there is no spark, the engine is not igniting properly, and you need new spark plugs.

It acts like it is going to start, but it won't turn over. New fuel filter, no change... any ideas? 1999 Ford Taurus.

If you can hear the fuel pump come on when you turn the key to the run position, then you turn key to start car...and the car will start and run for one or two seconds...then you may have a bad crank position sensor. Go to autozone.com, become a member and look up crank position sensor for your car. There will be a tutorial on testing and replacement.
