SOURCE: Reduced power code comes up and my truck stalls.

I had the same problem, and the solution was cleaning the throttle body, it does need to be completely removed to be cleaned thoroughly. I just used some brake cleaner on a rag to clean off all the carbon deposits. A friend of mine who is a dealer tech had only seen this trouble code once, and this was the solution. So far, my light has not come back on and the truck is running alot better at idle.

SOURCE: 2002 Chevy Trailblazer

hi, those sound like throttle actuator codes. the throttle body on your vehicle should be an electronically controlled unit without wires to control actual acceration an deceleration. now, there is also an electronic switch called a potentiometer on the gas pedal that transmits signal to the throttle body to tell it what to do. most of the time, the throttle body is what goes bad here. you should also check the wiring to the unit for bad connection by wiggling the wire connector and seeing if the reduced engine power light comes on. if this happens, you will likely have to replace the wiring pigtail and the throttle body. but, in some cases, the gas pedal switch goes bad, and likely what is not allowing the transmission to shift out of park, the pcm may lock out the solenoid controlling the shifter. but, don't just run with that answer, it maybe completely wrong. i have seen more throttle bodies and wiring harnesses go bad than gas pedal switches in those vehicles. but you might want to have a shop diagnose further, it may even be two unrelated problems, or in the powertrain computer itself.

2004 trailblazer reduced engine power light on and no power, had diagnosed couldn't find any problem, what to do ?

You didnt have it diagnosed very well. When REDUCED POWER message comes on, a fault code is stored. Take it to someone with more equipment and training who actually knows your vehicle. The specific reason behind reduced power can be caused by MANY MANY components or conditions. It needs to be checked by someone with a good quality GM scantool and knowledge of fault diagnostics. If this is a NO CODES STORED issue, then its possibly a memory or live faulting issue. Again, needs to be checked professionally with the proper equipment.

As to people suggesting CHANGE THE O2 SENSOR or CHANGE THE MAF, dont listen. Only change what is tested and bad. Otherwise you are wasting time and money.

I just had the transmission in my 2004 trailblazer

There is a harness in the engine compartment that has grounded out or shorted. The message 'reduced power' will flash across your driver information display on your gauge cluster. This is somewhat of a common problem for full size Gm trucks (silverado, tahoe, suburban, etc .) and trailblazer/envoy vehicles.

Reduce Engine light on; battery light on; low charge from charging system; vehicle won't run faster than 30 mph

You may have damaged the ECM with a power surge from shorting out the alternator. Try to reset the CPU program using a code reader and look for fault codes while you are at it

Reduced engine power

Your vehicle seem to have gone into limp home mode. You need to have the fault codes pulled to know what is wrong. Limp mode lets you get home but limits engine output function.

04 trailblazer starts but depressing gas pedal does not rev up

You'll need to have someone scan the computer for trouble codes to proceed. Most auto parts stores will do it for free in hopes of selling you some parts.
Once you get the codes you can research them online.
Could be a fuel pressure issue, or the throttle position sensor, or other components.

You need to get the fault codes read to determine where the problem is that set the SES light. Autozone will scan your car at no charge. At some point you will need to get a mechanic involved to further diagnose the codes.

Code drive 5 . My 2004 trailblazer posted a code "drive 5". It showed the "reduced engine poweer" light, and would not respond to the accelerator pedal. I had been driving in slow traffic. I pulled over,...

Thottle body sensor, accelerator pedal sensor, restricted air flow...will all trigger this fault light. Go to your local Autozone, they will run an OBD scan for free, and explain the fault codes to you so the correct repairs can be made.
Good luck...i hope this helps, please rate me a fixya.
