Their is a vacumn pipe from carb to the valve on the bottom of the fuel tank ,,,check it out is pipe split is there a vacumn ? has the valve jammed .

first of all you say you took out the plug you may have to replace the boot on the #2 spark plug and where you said it is fill with gas look at all of you injectors on that side and the fuel rail to make sure nothing is leaking at all use a flashlight when trying to find the leak cause its safer that way.

Try running injector cleaner like Lucas injector cleaner through the fuel system and also check the fuel pressure regulator. If the fuel pressure regulator is bad or the vacuum hose has a leak, that's where the problem may be. The other to is to try and clean out your EGR valve. A dirty or stuck EGR valve will give you the problems your described, Remove the EGR valve and clean it out with carb cleaner and make sure that the valve is not seized and can move. It is was a gas filter problem blocking gas flowing from the pump. What happening was that when it was trying to **** the last drop of gas into the engine it really disturbed dirts inside the fuel filter and made it clogged at fine mesh. And also make sure give sometime for gas delivered into the fuel line it since it was empty when you change the fuel filter. It means you have to keep starting for a while so gas can go up to the fuel distributor then injectors.
