Sounds like wiring issue or the accessories fuse may be bad. Look for fuse under dash or it could be the relay under hood, in fuse relay box. accessories fuse or lights?

SOURCE: warning chime disconnect

You will have to disconnect the warning chime module, it is on the driver side under the dash, follow the sound, it is about the size of a pack of smokes, it is usually black in colour.

SOURCE: warning chime continues to chime as I drive

My guess is a faulty switch at door for turning off interior lights/door closed, which is giving chime that door is still open

SOURCE: "Headlights on" warning chime not sounding when I open car door.

I had the same problem as this...

When you open or close your door there is lever that sits just below the the door latch that is attached to the frame of your car by a single screw.

It is a black plastic L shaped bit of plastics that slides on its own guide. It has obviously started to malfunction over time.

To double check this:

Turn the car lights on
Open your door
Locate the black L shaped plastic level.
Wriggle it around sliding back and forth - if it starts to work when you are applying pressure onto it it looks like it has broken.

Go to your local wreckers and ask them for a replacement part (it cost me $2.00 AUD to get mine)

To take the part off all you need to do is push the level back as far as it will go and you will see a phillips heads screw holding it in place.

Undo the screw and detach the part (there will be a wire attached to the back of the metal guide)

Unplug the wire and throw the part into the bin.

Attach the wire to the back of the new part and screw the new one into place.

All should be working fine now.

Good Luck

SOURCE: My driver side door is

Check ur door/light switch! You could see it around the pillar of ur DOOR! Reconise it by looking for a BLACK RUBBER BOOT, small and somewhat rounded. Take off the rubber boot u could see the plastic switch, use a cross type, unscrew the switch and pull it out! A single wire connection is inside, check if it is connected, if there is no wire, try to look inside the hole and reconnect it! If the wire is connected, corrosion might have disabled the CONTACT between the wire, switch and the BODY ground, where u screw the whole switch assembly! Hope that might help u out! taah!!

Beeping warning sounds

Some vehicles have just a standard ignition chime indicating the key is in the ignition. If the sound doesn't turn off in about five chimes you may have a problem with the Chimer of that is if you have no lights on indicating anything.

Warning bell won't stop sounding

Section 13-09: Gauges, Warning Devices — Chime System 1996 Windstar Workshop Manual
DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION Warning Chime Systems Three distinct sounds are used to indicate the area of concern. Seat belt warning generates 1 chime per second
key-in-ignition generates 2 chimes per second
headlight on generates 4 chimes per second.
Key-In-Ignition Warning The key-in-ignition warning will sound when the driver's front door (20125) is opened with the key in the ignition switch. It will continue to sound until the key is removed, the front door is closed, the ignition switch is turned to START or the vehicle speed is over 24 kmh (15 mph).

Safety Belt Warning When the ignition switch is turned to RUN or START from OFF or ACC, the chime will sound for six seconds or until the safety belt is buckled.
  • The safety belt warning indicator lamp (10C859) will activate for 60 seconds or until the driver's safety belt is fastened. Both the chime and lamp activate at the same time.
Anytime the ignition switch is released from START and returns to RUN while the safety belt lamp or chime is activated, the safety belt warning lamp or chime will remain activated until either the timing sequence has been executed, or the safety belt is buckled.

Headlamp Switch On Warning The chime will be activated if the headlamps or parking lamps are ON, the key is not in the ignition and the driver's door is opened. The chime will sound at a rate of four per second.
