First check the exhaust and identify the cold one, pull the plug and make sure it is firing at idle speed. If it is firing the only thing left is fuel to that side. If you are getting fuel remove botH spark plugs and check the compression, they should be within 10 psi of each other. Note have a friend hold the throttle wide open while Checking compression . If compression is low then the issue is compression not high enough to vaporize fuel at low speed.

My 04 mxz 600 ho sdi runs great above 7000 RPMs. But drops a cylinder like it's following a plug when I try and go slow

I suggest you try one of those instant download manuals. My nephew bought one for me when my car broke and we could fix it all by ourselves with the manual at www.reliable-store.com . This
website is very good for this.
?Try it.

What should the idle speed be set at on a 1971 F100 3 speed manual transmission 302 engine?

No more than 800 RPMs and if running real good you might be able to get to about 600 with a good smooth idle.

I have a 1998 GMC Sierra, 5.7 liter Vortec 4x4. It has 160k miles. I have noticed that it idles at around 500 rpms when its warmed up. Not sure if this is normal. However, I have noticed a bit more...

The normal idle for your engine should be 550 to 600 RPMS so thats not to far off . But the fluctuation is more likely the crank pisition sensor then the EGR valve this engine has a condution called crankshaft wip witch is normal but going down a rough road can somethimes set off a misfire code It wouldn't be a bad idea to take the EGR valve off and clean it and check it but the CPK would give you the fluctuation in RPMS . It still could be a few outer things but this it the most likely cause

How many turns in should the throttle screw be on a 1991 f150 with a 351 windsor

I believe that most automatics like 600 RPMs in drive. As far as how many turns that is,you can use the median settings of one to one and one half after the screw makes contact with it's stop.If you don't have a tachometer to set the RPMs use the turn to turn and a half initial setting and readjust while the engine is running in park. You don't want it to lurch into gear because of too high a setting so take it easy.Lots of RPMs won't let you stop on ice,the engine will power right thru the brakes. So find a tachometer and set the curb idle speed according to the specification sticker on your shock tower or radiator support.
