Code p 0128 refers to coolant thermostat--coolant temp below thermostat regulating temperature ===causes mechanical fault
For that code to appear the answer is most likely yes --it will affect fuel economy
Why because if the coolant is free to flow then the engine operating temp is not reached and so the engine coolant sensor reports that the engine needs more fuel and the air fuel mixture is adjusted to rich as a result
indicates a thermostat that is stuck open

SOURCE: I bought 04 saturn Ion

O2 sensors can drift off with time and are only picked up as bad by the ECU when they are almost beyond redemption. The other area to look at is the temperature sensor. Sometimes this does not pick up on the engine getting hot and the ECU, seeing a 'cold' engine keeps the fuel mix rich, as if trying to warm the engine all the time.

SOURCE: where is the thermostat located on a 2006 saturn ion 2 2.2L?

Most thermostats are located on the engine side of either the upper or lower radiator hose. Usually the upper.

SOURCE: my car is using more gas than it been why?

try running a quality injector cleaner
remember that ambient temp has a big bearing on fuel economy as does road conditions ( wet icy roads at speed increase wheel slip meaning more miles covered but not the distance covered

SOURCE: where is the thermostat located on my 2006 Saturn ion 2.2L?

Under the thermostat housing mounted on the engine at the "engine side" of the upper radiator hose. That "usually" happens when the thermos is stuck open & the computer is getting cool readings from the anti freeze because its flowing too freely. More fuel is added due to bad temp readings. Drain some coolant, remove rad cap, remove thermos housing, Clean gasket or r/r O ring & replace thermostat. Reinstall. Refill cooling system, let it run.refill overflow bottle after warmed up. Ck for heat & leaks. Good luck

What is the meaning of codes PO452, PO463 and PO128?

The codes p0452 and p0463 refer to the fuel sender unit. There may be a wiring problem and the gauge is not working properly.
p0128 indicates that the engine is running too cold. Possible stuck thermostat in open position. This would cause the engine to run a richer fuel mixture.

You have an Evap System problem and yes, this can cause poor gas mileage. Possible causes are:

Saturn Ion dies when gas cap is removed.

I read about the Onboard Emmissions control system sometimes actually causing such wierdness. Apparently, it is so freaking sinsative about getting you the best mileage and protecting the air we breath that it is easily upset. Try rreading the manual about your OB(?) Forgot the third letter. Or, sign up to Alldata. It isn;t free but if you can't find free help, it is worth it. Mike
