SOURCE: Please Help... p0404 and p0137 Error Codes (1999 Saturn SL1)

hey if you truely think it is your egr valve unhook it and if that is the problem then when it is unhooked it should run better and the codes should not come up. hey if you cahnged the 1 o2 sensor and not the other you probably made the code for the one u repalced come up again. i would recommened that you change both of the o2 sensors at the same time. try checking if your catalatic convert is plugged. how you do this is take a dollar bill and hold it at the end of your tail pipe while it is idleing and if the dollar bill stays still you have a plugged catalatic converter.

SOURCE: How many sensors does a 1999 Saturn have

There is no "cam" sensor. The ignition module detects the timing of the cam based on spark demand from he cylinders. The common fix for this is to remove the ignition module, located under the ignition coils, and clean the mating surface on the transmission with a brillo pad until clean and smooth. Then reinstall the module.

I have a 2000 Saturn SL2 I had a check engine light, the description was that the cam sensor needed to be replaced, Surprise!!!! 1.9 DOHC Saturn engine does not have a Cam sensor, so I replaced the cables...

did you replace the engine coolant temp sensor and harness?that will set a p0341,p0340 code and cause hard.no start as it misreads and dumps too much gas,,,,,the sensor is plastic and sits inside the head and crakcs and leaks into the harness and corrods,,,,,,you need a new updated brass sensor and harness, you must do the harness, its a pigtail you wire in,,,,,do not buy autozone junk they misread you need the saturn sensor and connector, like $70 for parts,,,,,,,that will fix it,,,also do not run platinum spark plugs that will set the light as well
