Sounds like a low coolant indicator.
Is the car running hot? Check and top off coolant (Radiator fluid) but do NOT open radiator cap if the engine has run in the past hour. Most times you top off the fluid by filling seperate reservoir

I have a red box with a downward pointing arrow to a wavy line which im sure represents some kind of fluid what does it mean?

I believe that is the low coolant light. Check coolant level and add appropriately. Remember not to open when motor is hot!

It may be the temperature light. It's hard to say by your description. Take a look inside the owner's manual to confirm.

I have the same problem with as another saturn customer, its a red light, in the shape of a box with a wavy line in it and and T shaped arrow pointing down from the top

its the low coolant light

Trouble light indicator, don't know significance

Hi... thanks for suggesting some kind of assistance at my cost.. but i know it's a simple answer, i just don't have the manual, otherwise i wouldn't of asked. So, i'll ask a mechanic friend next time i'm out and about.

When the wavy light is on with parenthasis around it and at the same time the (!) and (P) lights are on, this indicates a serious brake concern

Low Engine Coolant. You perhaps have leaky coolant tank.
Check if the tank holds coolant.

thank you! you were exactly right, the reservoir only had a tiny bit of water in it. i filled it with antifreeze and the light went out! i am going to keep the diagram you attached of warning light indicators for future reference. i appreciate your taking time to reply to my question. have a happy week and thanks again for your help.
