Last month, my transmission wouldn't change gear either. I'm not too sure what your exact issue is, but mine ended up being that there was a piece of the transmission that was loose and needed to be replaced. Once I got that resolved, my car was able to change gears and run smoothly. If you hear any noise while trying to change gears like I did, then you should probably have your vehicle's transmission inspected and see if you have a similar issue. www drivetrainpartslasvegas com

My jeep chrokee 2.7 crd wont shift when i drive it only uses 1 gear

The transmission is probably in limp-in mode, and should have an associated check engine light code/DTC. Something like that can be based on sensor issues or an actual problem inside the transmission.

Speed odometer won't work and transmission won't change gears

You probably have a check engine light staying on too. My first guess would be the speed sensor on the transmission but I would check for trouble codes first.

90 honda accord transmission wont shift into gears

Check your transmission fluid level first before doing anything else, and also note the color of the fluid. If it's dark then it needs to be changed. If it's low, you should do a transmission fluid change and fill it with 2.6 quarts of Hobda ATF fluid

2000 expedition transmission just rebuild but wont shift fron 1st gear

Hi James, The gear changes on modern vehicles is often controlled by speed sensors mounted onto each wheel. The sensors also control the ABS, traction control and activate the speedo. Have a diagnostic scan carried out and determine if the sensors are all in working condition. Regards John

My 03 ford windstar would not shift gear at all, goes into drive but wont shift from first to second

Check the transmission fluid and make sure it is both at the correct level and that it is not burnt smelling or brown. It should be a reddish color. A fluid flush and transmission filter change may be in order.
