Does your turn signal on that side wotk (left side?
Turn signal and brake light is thesame bulb , well, used to be. Check the bulb sny way. Circuits are not divided as you are thinking. Imports have turn signals on their own, separated from the brake lights..Domesrtcs are combined brake and turn with tail lights separate.. So, if a brake lamp is out, the turn signal is out. More than likely a failed bulb. A loss of dash /instrument lights tells you to check for tailights being inoperative. Left brake fuse I doubt you will find. The brake lamps pass through the turn signal control. The flasher can't be forgotten either. Inexpensive, easy yo cjange, easy to test.End of book is here. Chk plugs an wiring ehrn handling,it won't hurt to place a dab ofelectrical grease on or at connection ooints. - Good Luck, Ned_

I have a 2003 envoy XL, I have replaced. the break switch & the turn signal switch, & 1 curcit board & I have power to the inside fuse box, and tail lights&turn signals work. but no brakes?

Power to the brake lights flows from Fuse 12 in the underhood fuse box to the brake light switch. Check for power at the switch on the orange wire. Power leaves the brake light switch on the white wire and heads rear fuse box under the left rear seat. Power goes to fuse 34 Vehicle stop fuse 15A. From there it goes to the left and right stop bulb connectors on the light blue wires. If you don't have power on the light blue wires, you've got a bad fuse or an open somwhere. Two fuses in the stop light cirucit.

Where is the brake light fuse ?

there is a FUSE BOX in every car. Usually it is in the drivers cabin, at his feet, left side on the floor. It's covered but if you search you will find it. If you remove the cover, behind it has a map of the fuses.
In a box it must have Break L(10A) or something for Brake lights, or Rear Lights.
25625665-hcwu2totixqnatdrfhfbfmcl-2-0.jpeg Also There are some fuses which exist right in front of the driver over the cabin, in the engine place. Its a black box With FUSE on top. this also has a break fuse.

How do I replace my brake light fuse?

The break light have a fuse in the fuse box. If this blows then both break lights will go out. Its usually under the hood in the fuse box or its in the panel on the right or left inside where the front doors close. Some cars have a fuse box under the steering column. If this is not the problem then it may be a break light switch. These are located just up the break petal. Its a switch that gets released when the break is pushed with your foot.

Diagram for wiring for break lights on rav4 1996

The AutoZone website may have a wiring diagram in the sites self help repair section.

If you have a voltmeter check for voltage and ground continuity at the bulbs. Check for voltage before and after the brake switch (operate the switch). If you don't have a voltmeter connect something up with a 12V bulb.

If you have voltage after the switch (when operated) but none at the bulb might check the brake/tail light sensor. This is the actual sensor box located in the trunk, drivers side. The sensor can fail resulting no brake lights.

There have been various posts at this forum on the sensor, suggest you do a site search to find these and review them.

But first start checking for voltage.

Fthe tail light works but the brake light doesn't work, it probably is the module that has a circuit board. I have replaced it 2 or 3 times on my 2004 XL Envoy ... can I get a part number and location...

First let's determine which brake lights are not working. Does the high mounted brake light work? Do both left and right brake light not work? If none of the brake light work, the problem could be the brake light switch at the brake pedal OR fuse #12 in the underhood fuse panel.
If only the bake lights at the corner lamp assembly don't work, check fuse #34 in the rear fuse panel.
The module your are referring to is the circuit board located in each of the corner lamp assemblies, check on website www.compnine.com for the part number of this item. I don't believe this is your problem though.

2007 chevy silverado brake lights dont work but the one above bed and blinkers and tail lights do work

I had the same problem! I used a piece of wood to keep the break pedal depressed and then started to remove one of the break lamps and to my surprise it came on! Same thing on the other side. So I did not seat (bottom out) the lamps in their sockets and both break light are now working properly. I had a similar issue last spring but that time only one light was out. I put in a new bulb and it still did not work so I messed around with it a little more and it started working. Never did figure it out until now. Hope this helps!

Right side trailer brake light does not work

Did yo check the fuse panel inside the truck its located on the drivers side dash , you have to open the driver side door, in there is a 10 amp fuse that is linked to rt trailer brakes and rt turn signal for the trailer, if the fuse is good there is a black box under the dash located on the floor on the driver side, just to the left of the break, thats where must of the plug in wire harness is for the trailer breaks!

2003 silverado 1500 v-6 brake lights dont work

ljones, Did you check the "VEH stop" fuse in the left side instrument panel fuse box. There are 3 stop light fuses, 1 for all the stop lights located in the under hood fuse box. 2 in the left side IP fuse box. 1 for the upper stop light and 1 for the lower stop lights. The fuse box in the IP is where the upper and lower stop lights split. Let me know.
