06 cts 2.8 sluggish acceleration but after being cut off for a few hours runs good throwing7 codes

Replace the #2 coil. Second one starting on the passenger side.

It could be but more diagnosis is needed. If the battery is low the computer will normally cut off the fuel injedtion ssystem

Change the capacitor inside your distributer, then all should be okay, we all forget this small item until it gives problems it's probably never been changed since vehicle was new. Hope this helps Best wishes, Malcolm Campbell.

I have the same problem. But my check engine light comes on when this occurs. The car runs fine otherwise. The problem manifests when it's hot out and I've been driving for a while with the A/C on. When I stop somewhere (like the supermarket), shop, and get back in my car. It starts fine but when I put it in gear to go, it's extremely sluggish for a few seconds and the check engine light comes on. Then is runs fine but the check engine light remains on. The next day when I start it, the check engine light is not on. Also, I recently had the head gasket replaced. I took it back into the shop the first time the check engine light came on. The mechanic checked it and said everything checks fine. He re-set the light saying to keep an eye on it and bring it back in if the check engine light comes back on. It ran fine for 1.5 weeks and now this problem has started to occur.

it may sound like you have a faulty batterie. it could be a short cut inside it that come and goes. Try another battry. Good luck!

sounds like you need a tune up or a coil is bad

Are you loosing power to the ecu when the car is shut down? most cars with an ECU that controls timing, fuel, or boost can be forced to relearn the car if the ECU looses power (called a "limp" mode). I'd look into this. Also are you getting any check engine lights? considering the description of the problem, this would help to diagnose. Try getting the car started and running normally, then turn the car off but do not kill the power to the car, just stop the motor from running...Fire the engine back up and try to give the car a good stomp on the gas and see if you get the same sluggish problems...my 2 cents... check the sparkplug wires on the firewall side for arching-body seam there that will cut them

CHECK THE COLD START ENRICHMENT VALVE AND OR THE IDLE CONTROL VALVE. I AM ASSUMING THAT YOUR VEHICLE IS FUEL INJECTED. ONE OF THOSE HAVE GONE BAD.

for the cheapest TEMPORARY solution get some fuel injector cleaner and get on the gas fo about 5 mile at like 100 - 120 miles an hour thats what idid to mine last week hasnt wanted to die out since. good luck.
