Runs cold, but dies when up to temp.

I have an 02 Grand Prix Gt 3.8 non supercharged, It will start up and run fine cold, but once it gets up to temp, it dies out and wont restart. I have changed pretty much all the top end of motor sensors, and the EGR, Fuel pressure reg, Cat converter, I am not getting any codes, it just simply dies, and then it will only start if you feather the throttle, but it does not run smooth, and if you don't keep feathering it will stall. What can this be??

Turns out it was the mass air flow sensor. Dealer tried to sell me one for $430. I paid $130 and took all of two minutes to change. Runs great now.

Crank sensor. When it cuts off again spray some water on it and see if it will start.

1999 grand prix gtp supercharged thats starts up and runs for a few seconds then shuts down.

When you say it shuts down do you mean "dies"? If so try checking your fuel pressure regulator.

There is no wastegate.

Change the spark plugs and pay special attention to the plug on bank 3. Look for physical damage on the electrode...cracked, bent etc.
Use Autolite 605's copper core gapped to .055" and NEVER run less than 92 octane.

97' Pontiac Gran Prix Won't Stay running

Known GTP problem.

You most likely have a bad fuel pump resistor, which controls 2 speeds of the fuel pump.

To check to see if this is the problem, there is a trick you can do and its very easy to do. Go to the attached link, and bend the tab my finger is pointing at and then plug it back in. If your car starts and runs fine, well we just solved the problem.

NO START , COLD

have local auto parts store check the battery, it may have a couple bad cells, which would reduce cranking amps... would still have enough to run lights etc., but just not enough juice to start the car...
