Fan not working

It would only blow on 3, 2 and 1. Then it quit all together. I replaced the resistorand tha did not work. I have electricity making it to the fan motor, so I figured it was the motor. I got a new blower motor and plugged it up and still no fan. Any ideas on what it could possibly be?

You say you replaced the resistor. Did you replace the pigtails and connectors too? Check them, they could be melted. Every one that I've done, has either melted, or shown signs of getting hot. Best to replace pigtails too.

If you have replaced the blower motor and the blower resistor, you must have a failed blower switch. Also look for indications of overheated connectors/terminals. Blower motors draw high amperage when operation on high speed, many times melting the plastic connectors housing the spade terminals carrying the heavy current load.

If it was the motor that went out then it would not blow at all. The resistor is the culprit that starts killing off speeds. It should be about $25 to $30 at an aftermarket store like autozone or advanced auto parts.

check the fuse box under the hood and look for a burnt fuse (30A mini)
mine had the same problem and I check the fuses, found one that was blown,replaced fuse, now I have #4 position working

Yes its the blower motor resistor.

More then likley theres some trash or something in it, or possibly the motor itself is on it's way out. There not that bad to pull out of that body car, just pull it out and see what you can see.

The blower motor is under the glove compartment

You can replace the resistor on your own. Please find a detailed diagram which would guide you to do it.

I had a truck about the same year with the same problem, it was the wiring harness, but id check the resistor and the fan first before replacing anythings,

The bower motor is most likely what you are smelling.Replace the blower motor,and the blower resister next to the blower motor if,the blower motor has no speeds.

you said you just replaced the fan speed resistor. make sure to check your connection and also check the fuse and if it does not work you might have to check your fan motor itself.

Where are the fuses in a 2007 toyota corolla

Quite possibly a fuse or relay for the interior cabin fan (heat and cool) has failed. Search for "location of fuses for 2007 corolla" to find out where they're located, and to find a diagram. Once you've identified the fuse/relay, try replacing it. If the fan has failed, though, it might blow out again and you'll have to replace the fan motor (which is usually a TRULY pita job). Before doing that, however, make sure that the rest of the A/C system (compressor, electric radiator fans, etc.) is working properly.

2004 Grand Am Heater fan quit working, started loosing speed control then stop blowing all together.

Could be the blower motor or the resistor. The resistor should be behind the glove box. You can look the part up online to see what it looks like.

INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND BLOWER MOTOR QUIT TOGETHER.

Belief it or not your problem may be at one off your electric fans, also a possibility your a/c compressor coil shorted, so disconnect your a/c condenser fan and your a/c compressor check them for short and replace has needed, here is the logic every time you turn your heater on defrost it will cycle your a/c and it will blow your fuse, there is a circuit breaker on fuse box by left kick panel way up make sure it is in good condition push on it and you will feel it click if trigger, is not spring back it may be at fault to, replace it. good luck

The air is not cool when idling, it blows warm. Also the setting 1 and 2 doesnt work, only 3 and for makes air blow.

Sounds like 2 different problems here. The ac gets warm when standing idle, is most likely the under hood fan not kicking on when ac is on. This may be a fuse issue or a relay. When ac is on, the fan should be on all the time. Relay maybe in an electrical box under the hood. Unplug the fan and test for power with a test light to see if the fan has power when ac is "on".

The inside fan not working on levels 1& 2 is likely the voltage ballast issue. this is an electrical block which controls voltage to change fan speeds. Usually found under the passenger side dash, right in the air flow comming from the fan and inside the air flow housing. Usually held in by 2 or 3 screws with a connector and 3-4 wires sticking out. this should be under $20 to buy and quite easy to change, if you can find it. Try behind glove box etc. Do not test the new one without it being in place, as it may burn out very quickly without the air flow to cool it.

I have a 2003 ford tarus, It intermitatly boils water out the resavor. the temp gauge does not show hot. have changed the thermostste, the resavor cap, flushed it out. what else could it be. it sometimes...

My guess is that your electric fan is not engaging all the time for the cooling system. The electric fan is thermostatically operated by the temperature of the engine coolant. These sensors go bad intermittently and then you have the problem you describe. You need to replace the sensor that operates your electric fan. It should be located somewhere on the radiator tanks probably at the bottom of the radiator. Do not wait to replace the sensor that controls the fan. It will eventually quit working all together and you will be sitting on the side of the road somewhere.

There is a resistor panel that controls the fan speeds behind the glove box on the dash. You remove the glove box and you will see the airbox. Sitting down in the left top, with 2 screws holding it in, will be the resistor panel. It consists of 4 springs and a resistor. All out of veiw, inside the airbox. Remove the 2 screws and unplug the plug. Pull out the old resistor and replace with the new one. It only cost around $15-20 bucks at the local auto part store. This will get your fan blowing. If your fan is blowing but the air is not cold, I would suggest to check and see if the compressor clutch is working properly. If not, try giving it a light tap while running. If it is working, you may want to recharge your freon.

Hello. First, it is probably that the clotch in the coolin fan isn't working. When the coolin fluid is warm, the temperatur put it in work, and the fan works rapidly, when the temperatur lows, the clotch loose the fan an is waiting the warm up again. But your Jimmy don't have the coolin fan in the principal belt, it have an electric coolin fan. In that case, your problen is for a low level of coolin water, or the relays of the electric fan don't work properly.
Finaly, my english isn't good, because I speak in spanish, but if my bad english solves your problem, i'm geting so well. I working every day in electronics cars, and that is the basic metod of analyse that I use.

A/C and heat just suddenly quit working

It is most likely the fan motor's internal brushes have worn out. Either you will have to replace the magnetic brushes, or replace the motor all together. There is a tube and wire harness that will have to be removed. Than there is 3 or 4 bolts that hold motor to firewall.

Fan blower stopped working

I had the same problem and Ia m working to resolve it.
You need to remove the blover under the glove box it's very easy to remove. 1) remove the glove box, 2) the metalic suport that it's hold by 4 screws and finally remove the 3 screws that holds the blower. Take it off and remove the coverplate of the motor ( 2 screws) and
check the brushes. In my case they were worn out. So you need to buy a new motor with the blower aprox $50 or try to replace the brushes.
