Fuel sending unit is in the tank, Honda I think has an access plate located over the fuel pump assembly, probably under your rear seat on trunk area. Google fuel pump replacement or your make/model. They are located same place. Problem with the float probably but may have to replace unit.

The fuel meter inside the tank has malfunctioned. One option is to replace the fuel pump. Second option is to bring down the fuel tank and remove the fuel pump and check see if the metering rod was bent. Now if you are not having problems with the fuel pump. I would deal with the gauge being low and continue running the car until the time comes to replace the fuel pump.

I am sorry but it sound's like your sending unit in the tank has gone bad. Expensive to replace. If your lucky, it's just the wire harness from the gas tank to the frame. "ground Wire"

Fuel levels are equaled in the tanks via a frame mounted transfer pump that transfers fuel from the rear tank to the front tank where the main pump is. Your transfer pump needs replaced, and should run about 60 bucks. Should find the pump mounted to the frame between tanks.

Check your fuse , check the wires to the gas tank , could be the mechanism inside the tank , if you cant get it working use your trip meter as a gas gauge so you don't run out , just reset it when you fill your tank and refill before a set # of miles , lets say 200 miles , just fill the tank and reset the trip meter , just remember to fill the tank full and reset to 000 every time so you wont run out of gas

The gas tank has a sensor to monitor fuel evaporation. If it determines that fuel is evaporating from the tank, the check engine light will come on. It usually is caused by the gas cap losing it's seal. Get a new gas cap, make sure it is made for your car. That should eliminate the light.

87 f150 dual tanks fuel gauge doesn't work how can I troubleshoot this with a multimeter; what voltages/ohms values are normal

I have a1987 F-150. The gas gauge for the rear tank always indicate that the tank is full when I know it is not. I try to put gas in but the tank won't let any gas in. Is there some type of sensors inside the tank that won't allow the tank to be filled or is this a guage problem?
