My renault kangoo 2001 van wont start the immobilizer light keeps flicking on and off I can here a clicking sound from the engine it will start some times can anyone tell me how to fix this pproblem only started doing it aweek ago had it for 7 months n it was fine any help would b great thanks all

Best to have the ECU and IP scanned. IP could have shorted leaving the light on. If a relay is stuck or ECU keeps the glow plugs hot. This will eventually burn out the glow plugs.

sounds like an ignition switch problem sometimes key is making contact to start and not other times

try turning on your ignition switch dont start your engine for at least ten seconds. if still hard to start check your glow plugs and wiring associated with them

sounds like air entering fuel line

Replace the ignition switch. The Haynes or Chilton manual will tell you how and the parts shouldn't cost much online.

What year, does it have 4 wheel ABS? If so the ABS hydraulic control valve is most likely leaking pressure to the wheel.

Just had exactly the same problem with my Kangoo, the bolt had come loose on the bottom crank pulley and the alternator belt came off, unfortunately, as I have found out, this allows the cam belt pulley to move on the shaft and the timing will have slipped and this almost certainly causes damage to valves, pistons etc. I'm just about to strip mine down to find the damage.
Not good news but hope it helps to find the problem.

Had a look at the fuse (15Amp) that controls the door-locks and the imobiliser?
