Will These Spark Plug Wires Work for My Audi?

Mechanic determined I need new spark plug wires to fix my Cylinder 2, 3 disconnect (says spark plugs themselves are fine).

I am very low on money, so would like to get wire set on Ebay. The following are my two choices...one is a cheaper than the other.

The more expensive one says I'll end up making back the money in fuel savings. Is that true? Other than the wires one day breaking down again, is there strong benefit to buying the more expensive if on a budget?

(This is for a 1996 Audi A4 V6 with 205,000 miles on it)

I have a 1985 Suzuki GS700ES. Where do wires from my 2 coil packs go to which spark plug. Thanks

The 1985 Suzuki GS700ES is a motorcycle that is equipped with two coil packs, each responsible for providing the spark to two cylinders. To determine which wire from the coil pack goes to which spark plug, you can consult the wiring diagram for your motorcycle.
If you don't have a wiring diagram, you can also determine the correct wire placement by using a spark tester. To do this, you'll need to disconnect one of the spark plug wires from a spark plug and connect it to the spark tester. Then, turn on the engine and observe which spark plug is firing. Repeat this process for each of the remaining spark plug wires until you have determined the correct placement for all of the wires.
It's important to ensure that the wires are properly connected, as incorrect placement can result in poor engine performance or damage to the ignition system.

How to Test Spark Plugs in Audi A6 car?

1) Test the spark plug ignition. For that disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug.
2) Then touch the spark plug wire close to a metal surface of the car. Then spin the key in ignition switch. If you will see a spark or hear a crackling noise. This means the wire to the spark plug has voltage in it.
3) If there is no spark when you crack the engine it means that a spark plug wire is dead.
4) Check out all the battery cable, ignition wires and coil wires are hooked up properly to their points.
5) If any of the battery cable, ignition wires and coil wires is loose then this can also relate to no spark.
6) But if all the battery cable, ignition wires and coil wires are properly connected then its time to replace the spark plugs.
7) Before replacing clean the old spark plugs connections and recheck.
8) Many a time’s cleaning or moving the spark plug connections makes it work.
9) If nothing is getting the spark plug to spark, then it needs replacement.
This will help. Thanks.

2006 Ford Ranger 3 litre. I had no spark on 2/3 and massive spark on Cyl 1. Replaced coil pack and now have massive spark coming from all 3 on that bank. What can be the cause from Cylinder 1?

FIRST OFF LEARN THE RULES OF WASTED SPARK COIL PACKS
1-IF ONE WIRE OR PLUG GOES OPEN, YOU LOSE 2 PLUGS DEAD THAT IS BECAUSE 2 FIRE AT ONCE, AND IS WIRED IN SERIES
2-DO NOT MIX IF THE WIRES OR FIRING ORDER IS LOST (HORROR 1)

3- LEARN TO REPLACE HV WIRES 1 BY 1, NOT MIXING THEM UP EVER.
YOUR PACK IS 6 IN ONE, AND HAS 3 COILS INSIDE FIRING IN WASTED SPARK ORDER. IS THIS CLEAR? AND ANSWERS IT ALL.

4- WELL THE HV WIRES ARE FIRST TO CHANGED OUT WITH NEW SPARK PLUGS AS 17 OLD PLUGS AND HV WIRE SETS ARE NO GOOD UNLESS NGK MAG WIRE, NOW THAT IS A WINNER THOSE, NOT CARBON CORE OR SILCONE CORE JUNK WIRES EVER,SEE NOW MOTORCRAFT SAVED OUR BACON,

SEE PHOTO BELOW FOR FIRING ORDER.
ON TOP OF COIL CLEAR AS DAY 6" SEE 3 AND 4 THERE, THEY FIRE AT THE SAME TIME.
AS DOES 2/6 AND 1/5

5: CYLINDER #1 ON ALL V ENGINE IS THE ONE MOST FRONT
IT IS OFF SET TO THE FRONT MOST. BINGO #2
THEN WE GET ASKED THE FIRING ORDER.
6: THIS IS NOT GUESSING THIS IS SERVICE MANUAL FACTS .

Cylinder 2 not working Daewoo cielo 1.5i 1995

Do you have spark at cylinder 2? If not, check spark plug wire or spark plug. Another possibility is the ignition coil pack (the thing your spark plug wires run in to). Hopefully that is not the issue because they are expensive new. An easy way to check is to pull the spark plug out of the engine then reconnect it to the spark plug wire. Turn the engine over and check for spark at the end of the plug. WARNING: don't touch the plug unless you like pain. You can always buy a spark plug tester. Anyway, this will determine if you have spark problems with this cylinder.

There is a misfire in my engine, changed plugs & wires. now it reads that the fuel leveling sensor is bad, will this help?

If there is a misfire, the cylinder that it is misfiring in will be recorded as a code in the computer.

Have the car scanned to determine which cylinder is bad. Then, replace the coil pack going to that cylinder.

Ignition Coil Pack Removal & Installation 2V Engine To Remove:
  1. Twist the spark plug wires off of the ignition coil towers. Mark the spark plug wire positions so they can be installed in their original positions.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil. CAUTION
When removing the spark plug wires, a slight twisting motion will break the seal and ease removal.

I got a dodge stratus R/t and my service engine soon light came on, so i went and got it checked out and they said it was the 2 cylinder spark plug. How do i get that changed and the price range.

If you have never had the vehicle tuned up, had the plugs and wires changed, you should. Performing the work yourself saves you a lot of money. Spark plugs are $3-$5 each and the wire set should be $20-$40. The parts store should be able to tell you the gap of the spark plugs needs to be set to. You can perform the work in less than an hour. Before you start set the gap for each of the new plugs. The step by step for it is: Remove that spark plug from it's cylinder and install the new one. Starting at the distributor/electronic sending module remove each spark plug wire, swapping out plugs and wires one at a time. Remove the old wire, install the new one at the distributor end and connect it to the spark plug end twisting it to insure proper fit.

If you get the work done at a mechanic you should expect to pay anywhere from $50-$200 depending on the shop.

If you do the work yourself you should pick up a vehicle repair manual from either Haynes or Chilton, available at the auto parts store. The instructions for many do it yourself repairs are inside.

Good luck

I need a spark plug wire diagram for 1987 ford 302 crown vic

1987 Ford Crown Victoria 5.0L FI 8cyl

Duraspark Type Plug Wires
The spark plug wires used with the Duraspark type ignition system are 5 / 16 in. (8mm) in diameter to contain the higher output voltage. There are two types of wires used in this system, and some engines may have both types installed. It is important to properly identify the type of wire used for each cylinder before replacements are made.

Both types are blue in color and have silicone jacketing. The insulation material underneath the jacketing on some plug wires is a silicone layer separated by glass braid. The plug cable not incorporating the silicone layer is used where engine temperatures are cooler and are identified with the letter SE with black printing. The plug cables with the silicone insulation are used where high engine temperatures are present. These cables are identified with the letters SS with white printing.
Each spark plug cable, if original, is marked with the cylinder number, model year and date of cable manufacture (quarter and year). Service replacement wires will not have cylinder numbers, or manufacture date.

On any vehicle equipped with a catalytic converter, never allow the engine to run for more than 30 seconds with a spark plug wire disconnected. Unburned fuel in the cylinder may ignite in the converter as it is exhausted and damage the converter.

When removing spark plug wires, mark and tag the individual wires. Grasp, then slowly, twist the insulator back and forth on the spark plug to free the insulator. Do not pull on the wire directly as it may become separated from the connector inside the insulator. Special tools are available which can help ease plug wire removal, and prevent damage to a cable.

When installing a new set of spark plug wires, replace the wires one at a time so there will be no confusion. Start by replacing the longest wire first. Route the wire exactly the same as the original.
