There are a lot of issues that this could be caused by and it could be as simple as holding the button down on the ESP switch for 5 seconds or it could be a wheel alignment issue. If the unit was driven on a slippery surface and it came on, you have to go through at least 3 driving cycles for it to reset.
What do you mean by 3 driving cycles. I have a 2014 Colorado 7 with ESP and have had it to dealer and Auto electricians and they cant find anything yet the ESP light remains on dash and the vehicle is undrivable ( like its in limp mode ). Spent a fortune on this and still nothing. Help please.
First of all you have to have an alignment done by a shop that is certified to work on that vehicle because the sensors have to be reset when the alignment is set; IF the alignment is good and the sensors are ok, then the vehicle has to be started and driven a while for three times consecutively to tell the BCM that the ESP is working correctly.
