A coil pack is the peace that the plug wires go into. just fallow your plug wires from the engine and you will find it.

Got a cy4 misfire on 2005 jeep liberty could be the spark plug or coils how difficult is it to change coils

Coils are not bad to change on the 3.7L. They are right on top of the motor and only require unhooking a few sensors and maybe removing your air filter assembly to get to. All you should need to a ratchet, 6" extension and a 10 mm socket. I would recommend changing all of them at once.

Engine light comes on code 308

P0308 is cylinder misfire detected, cylinder #8. Causes can be: bad spark plug, bad coil pack, faulty fuel injector, poor compression, faulty computer..I generaly recommend changing spark plugs first. Then test the coil pack, after that I would look at the injector, I have never seen a bad computer throw this code.

How do I change the coil pack in my 2005 ford taurus

Welcome to Fixya.

Here's the procedure how to replace the ignition coil pack of your car.

•1
Understand basic safety procedures. Any time you work on your Ford Focus, you should set the emergency brake and disconnect the negative, or ground, cable from the battery. Some mechanics recommend you isolate the cable to prevent accidental contact, which could spark a connection.
•2
Release the spark plug wires from the Ford Focus ignition coil pack. You may need to pinch or press a release to unlock the wires.
•3
Use a socket set or a small wrench to unbolt the ignition coil connectors. You also need to undo the capacitor electrical connectors. As you work, make note of which connectors go where--this pays off you when you reassemble the parts.
•4
Locate the bracket that holds the ignition coil pack and the electrical capacitor in place. Undo the fasteners that secure them.
•5
Separate the Ford Focus ignition coil pack from the mounting system. Replace the old Focus ignition coil pack with a new one. Verify the new ignition coil pack works with your engine, even if you use a universal ignition coil pack.
•6
Reassemble the parts. If you have a Torque wrench, use it to tighten the ignition coil bolts with 7 inch pounds of torque (10 Nm).

2005 saturn ion2 missfire problems

Stop wasting time at auto zone and throwing parts at it. Find a good repair shop and have it properly diagnosed and repaired.
Have you ever had a spark plug fail in your lifetime?Probablely never will.
Do you know how to test a coil pack? Did you test it?

A simple check of vacuum hoses or a loose air filter cover, loose gas cap an so on ,could be your part of your problems. e.g. something simple.

I would recommend spending the big bucks and getting the shop manuals, for all your vehicles, something no one wants to do. Then study your vehicles systems and eventually ,you may be doing your own repairs.

I have a 2001 Mercury Sable the check engine light is on it also blinks at times. I have done a oil change also air filter and oil filter checked the spark plugs and replace an air flow hose the engine...

First I recommend you get an auto repair/maintence manual for about 20.00. by Chilton or Haynes then check trouble codes for your sable, this manual is reasonable and will aid you in any further and future repairs. this manual is the type I use, I work on or vehicles-( shady tree mechanic)
