I think my '03 Saturn Ion lost power steering

there is no power steering fluid on an 06 saturn ion...they are electronic power steering

think you are being given the run around here ,no power steering
?? have a look under the bonnet for a belt driven pump or an electric one

That system is better left to someone with knowledge and experience with it...after all if it is messed up its the streering that wont work, and your life may depend on it

If you bought the car new, the dealer from whom you purchased it will have the key code on file and they can cut you a new one. If may even appear on your paperwork. If you didn't buy it new, then you should determine where it sold new, should be in the owners manual, and prove ownership to that dealer and they can cut you a new key.

the electric steering column is going bad,you need a new steering column,,,typicial ion problem,youre gonna have to go to the dealer,,rather expensive for the parts, over $300

I dont think theres a fuse for your power steering

Should be a cap under the hood that says power steering fluid

I have a 2006 Saturn ION as well and the PWR STR light came on and the power steering went out. When i turn off the car and turn back on it's fine for a while but goes out again in a day or so. I called Saturn and they said it is the power steering which is electric and to fix it i would have to replace the whole steering column! If it is not the fuses which i haven't checked yet then it will cost me $850.00 to replace. that's not counting whatever else they find and charge me for. I was looking under 2004 Saturn Ion and they have a lot of the same issues. I don't know where to look for the fuses at though I'm thinking under the steering wheel if anyone knows please let me know.
