My honda accord lx dies while driving mainly in passing gear i replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump but it still does it.
I have a 1997 Honda Accord 4 cylinder LX. This happened to me about three weeks ago and then it happened again yesterday. I come to a stop and while idling, the car dies. When I try to start it, the engine fires up and then dies again right away. Both times I have gotten it started and running by really gunning the gas and racing the engine for about 5 - 10 seconds Afterward, it seems to run fine. There are no other symptoms that I have noticed.
This car has been babied for all of it's life. At 95K miles I had it checked out and the mechanic just shook his head and said "95000 miles and it's barely broken in." Currently it has 110K miles. Any ideas?

'babied'? Well looked after like a treasured child. No expense spared, serviced, kept clean, never raced, never taken out in the rain :>)
