A 2 part question. The past few months, our car would idle ruff after a fill up for a few miles. Also, the idle seems to at or below 500 rpm in gear with the break on. No check engine light is on. Had it to the Dealer and could not find anything on the computer. Also checked the charcol canister from the gas tank for blockage -no problem. What do you think? Thank You, Bob
You have to mention the make and model that is being tested
there are codes but if it is a GM product many scan tools will not read the faults because it requires a scan tool with a special protocol for GM
if it is a nissan , the ECM has a small screw that has to be turned to get the codes to read
The car is playing so rest assured there are fault codes but who ever is doing the reading is using the wrong scanner or is not familiar with your make of car requirements

The evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve is a duty control type, which controls the flow of purge air from the evaporative emission canister.
Inspection
1.
Look for loose connections, sharp bends or damage to the fuel vapor lines.
2.
Look for distortion, cracks or fuel leakage.
3.
After removing the EVAP canister, inspect for cracks or damage.

you hooked the return fuel line to the vent line . need to go back and check your work
SOURCE: CIL on, code P0441, using more gas, hard to fill up
In the first place, P0441 = Evap. Emission System Incorrect Purge Flow. The 'CANISTER CLOSE VALVE' you mention is normally OPEN until the ECU (Engine Control Module) decides to check the fuel system for any leakage - IT closes the valve and then applies a vacuum to the system and monitors it for leakage. This valve (CCV), if sticking CLOSED, only MIGHT set P0441. The most suspect component is the Purge Control Solenoid Valve (located on/near the engine) and is also controlled by the ECU. If this valve is malfunctioning, it can absolutely cause this P0441 to SET!... There is also another component which can CAUSE this code to SET... it's the Differential Pressure Sensor (DPS) or Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor (FTPS) connected to the Evaporative Emissions System. It is this component which monitors 'vacuum' pressure on the system to determine if there is any leakage.. its signal is also used by the ECU to monitor 'purge' of the charcoal canister under normal driving conditions. There is yet another component which can cause the ECU to set P0441.. and that is a restriction in the 'purge' circuit.. clogged charcoal canister, air filter, or a kink in the Evap hose(s).
SOURCE: car idles up and down could this come from
possible -but there are a number of other possibles carb/throttle body-fuel filter-small vacuum leak-even air filter good luck thanks for using fixya
SOURCE: i have a 2002 hyundai accent, i could not pump gas
First GUESS.. replace the charcoal canister after you have cleaned out the hoses between it and the canister. Then blow air between the purge control solenoid valve and the fuel tank.
