2000 ford focus dies when coming to a stop and battery light stays on. Brand new battery and alternator just put on

First, a bad battery doesn't turn the light on. Just A bad alternator or ECM. Start the car. put a volt meter on the + and - sides of the battery. If it reads 12 to 15 volts (closer to 15 for a new alternator). The alternator is good. And is charging. The problem is the wiring or the ECM. It can be bypassed to turn the light off. I just did it a week ago. Problem is , I don't have the wiring diagram for your car. Don't get a book from the parts store, it won't tell you. Go to alldata or Mitchell and purchase a manual. It's online and lasts a year. But they give you good electrical schematics...

Check the alternator! It may be bad!

alternator ground or possible voltage regulator but all else its the alternator or a short in the wiring

power is not getting to the alternator to turn it on from the keyswitch..need to check the cars running voltage.. should be 14.5 or higher but not over 16..sounds like the battery alone is supporting the system(and it wont forlong)..may have a bad fuseable link..

hi, might wanna check the atternator ,check the belt make sure it still on .over time they get old and loose. if still on you could do a test, while the car is on diconnect the ground wire off, if the car stays on the atternator is good. if the cars turns off , you got a bad att. thanks hope been some help

check your altinator the plug into the alternater could have come loose if not have your altinator and battery checked out

This is often mistaken as an alternator or battery problem. If you also are having a problem with the engine idling a bit low (less than 600rpm) when stopped and in Drive without the a/c on, it is likely a throttle body sensor issue. Because the sensor is bad, the engine idles lower than it should and will cause the 'battery light' to come on and go off seemingly randomly.

I think it's a bad alternator.

Does it have a brand new alternator and battery? It definetly sounds like an alternator. Look for shorts and check the power cables connections and ground.

the car still not chargin you might have a electrical problem with the laternator circuits or have a defective alternator
