Hello my grandis loses power at 2000rpm and feels life fuel starvation if you come off the gas it recovers until you try to hit the gas hard and again acts like you have run out of gas, checked fuel filter in tank and cleaned the fuel line drives ok unless you accelarate haard? Help

there are many reasons why , did it make any strange noises before loosing power ?it could be the fuel , ignition system ,battery/charging system , engine sensor , head gasket there is a long list so get a mechanic to read the OBD codes , although on this age car the ECU will be a bit basic so may need to have mechanic spend an hour or so checking things out good luck as it sounds like a favourite car to you
Most likely just a dirty fuel filter.You may have got a load of contaminated fuel.Why not try that first as it won't cost much.
Keep a spare with you as you might require another until the bad fuel is used up.(if a new filter is the cure)
it sounds very much like fuel starvation, what carbs? on SUs the needle valves can stick closed so that carb runs out of fuel and you run on 2 and abit untill the vibration opent the valve and off you go.
Fuel pump is not pumping hard enough anymore. Have a mechanic check the pressure. Either pump is bad or the fuels filter is clogged. One other thing that causes this is a clogged Calalytic Converter.
