Can I use parts from a 2004 Saturn ION in my 1998 Saturn SL1?

I have a 1998 Saturn SL1 and having the transmission hesitate then jolting when put in reverse. My fan motor also went out, over heated, which cracked my radiator. Replaced radiator and fan motor. A friend has a 2004 Saturn ION (that she is junking) that has a good transmission & engine that she will give me if they are interchangeable plus window motors. Will either work in my car? Transmission doesn't always jolt or hesitate when I put in reverse. When it does I wait for a few seconds to a min. an I can feel it slip into gear. If it doesn't and I need to give it a little gas to backup then that is when jolts and it makes a loud noise. Also 2 rear windows wont open at all and 2 front windows open but won't close. I have to hit button then tug on glass and keep doing that to get them to close. Can I use parts from a 2004 ION in my car 1998 Saturn SL1?.
