The Toyota Celica Convertibles were made into convertibles by a company in America - the owners manual is no help. I checked all the fuses to no avail, but am not sure if it would be a regular 20A type fuse in the fuse box would be the answer....... Any ideas? It was working fine when I put the top up a month or so ago - any help is appreciated. Thanks.
I sent you the .pdf this morning. Thanks for choosing FixYa!

Check the circuit breaker in right kick panel looks like a small silver box with a hole. Put pen point in hole to reset
Did you find out what the problem was with your top??
I have a 1999 celica gt convertible and I'm having a problem with the top. I tested the center console switch and have power to the relay I can here the relay click and i get one leg of power to the motor and I pulled the motors and it runs fine.. I think the problem is in the safety switch in the shifter but where is the safety switch located??? Thanks Mike

On my 99 celica my top goes down O.K. ,but when I go to put it up one side is lazy I always have to go out and push it along while my wife olds th ebutton in. Do I have a bad motor ? Can I rebuild it myself?
I have yet to tackle my top project. If you can hit up Toyota Ed, see above (he may not see this posting), he would likely know and be able to send you the .pdf file of the manual to show you the location. If you do get that, please forward on to me. I am getting close to start tackling my top not working. Thanks and hope this helps. Jon
Be sure to check the "bypass" switch in the trunk........I missed this switch which is marked with "MANUAL" on it. It must have gotten bumped by something in the trunk. Hope this helps. This bypass switch is located in the upper left (facing the trunk) behind the liner and connected to the cross bar by a zip tie.
The retract motors are powered by the 10 amp GAUGE and the 30 amp DOOR fuses. There is also a relay, which may be labeled as "Top Stack". If you send provide your e-mail address, I can send you a .pdf with all of the wiring shown. Please advise.
I'm having the exact same problem as Paesano.
Can you send me the email cuz my top aint working [email protected]
ASC Tops. American Sunroof Corp. Sticker inside left front door jamb. Any top they manufactured had an in line fuse in it. Where is the problem, Installers had to cut power wire ,to install unit then reattach power wire. Late 90s it may be a glass fuse. Hope this helps.
