Mine did the same. I would change the fuse and test. It would work and as soon as I drive it would pop. I realised that the brake lights were on the same circuit. Remove the rear lights and replace your bulbs. It worked for me. Good luck.
hi, friend this not a big issue you can find this wiring diagram or wiring chart, & fuse containing chart at your nearest VW authorized service station or in simple if you are owning a preowned vehicle it come's with owner manual in that you will find the fuse chart that may help you out find appropriate fuse containing & fuse box location so refer to the manual catalog first fine this may help you out find your self free to ask any problem related to automobile field we would be happy to help you out . till then have a safe drive & happy motoring this is Siddhanth saying bye for now
First check the fuse and the bulbs. The switch is located on the steering column support and it is kept normally off by the brake pedal. Disconnect the jack and jumper the terminals... if the brake lights operate but not when you plug it back in and step on the pedal, then you have a faulty switch... if they still won't work with the terminal jumped, than it is a wire fault... hope this helps...;-)
