Dies sputters

How long ago did you have the engine tuned up? Could be that that the engine needs a tune up. If it was running fine and then all of a sudden it started running bad then it could be you purchased some gasoline with water in it. Don't buy gasoline if you see a gasoline tanker truck at the gas station and the tanks are being filled.. All that is happening is the gas going into the tanks is sturring up the dirt and debris in the tanks. Kind of like stirring kool-aid in a glass of water. Also worse is if the tanker truck is there and the tanks are being filled while its rainning or been raining all day with lot of nice water puddles were until the caps were removed to fill the tanks from the tanker and the water fell in the tanks. If its bad gasoline that is making your car run bad, you can buy an additive at the auto parts that you can pour in your gas tank to help burn the water out of the gas. Hope that all you need is the additive. Good luck.

2002 CHEVY VENTURE, ran through standing water, now it starts, sputters, and stalls.

I think you should head to a mechanic. Sounds like you got water in the fuel system. You could possibly resolve the issue by filling up with a fresh tank of gas, but that could also cause more problems if there is a lot of water in there already. I'd take it to a trusted mechanic.

2004 Ford Freestar missing Possible fuel pump?

if you have a bad spark plug wire, it will draw condensation and make engine run rough.... you can check this by getting a spray bottle and filling it with water, spray a mist over top of the wires while the car is running, and if one is bad it will show.... (looks like little lightning coming off of wire) .... hope this helps

After unusual below freezing weather here in california my 94 prizm is idling really rough and sputters in gear what might be the problem

Sounds like water in the gas. Colder temperatures can lead to condensation in the gas tank. Water then enters the fuel line, causing sputtering, rough idle, and occasional stalling. Try a bottle of Dri-Gas or other similar product with your next fill up. If the problem persists, you may need to change your fuel filter.

Check engine light/rough acceleration

Dear atomicboy488,

A lot of Rain=Possible Water in the Gas=Erratic Running!
This sounds like it may be as simple as cleaning the water or gunk out of the gas tank which is what I always do 1st because it's easy and inexpensive.
If your fuel is contaminated with gunk, grime, WATER and/or bottom junk like rust this will cause stalling AND ROUGH ACCELERATION!
Try spraying a can of starter fluid in the air intake and see if it runs! If it does, it's most likely bad fuel or clogged injectors so....
Fill the tank with High Test, Add some DRYGAS and a good fuel system cleaner or 2 or 3 and this should dissolve all the gunk and clean the injectors! Read & follow the cans' instruction carefully.
If this cures the problem never let your gas tank get below 1/4 and especially never run it to empty as this is when the gunk and/or water will enter the system!
Hope this helps!
Good Luck!
