Hello,

My name is Mike.. I will be your Mechanic Doctor today. If when you turn the key and it just clicks, it is going to be a issue with a connection to your solenoid/starter.

I will explain more. Because your lights are working and all that, then it does not appear to be a battery issue. The way it works, is when you turn the key, it would go through a relay and then trigger your starter solenoid, which then triggers your starter to turn over motor.

99% of the time when you hear a click it is the cables going down to your Starter/solenoid Or bad solenoid itself. But before we panic on that, first do this.

Trace all your cables that go to your starter, and it is possible that the connections are loose or corroded. Take a socket of open end wrench and undo cables make sure they are clean and no corrosion and then after you are convinced it is clean, then tighten back down real snug, and do this with all your battery cables as well. And the ground from battery to the frame area. I am pretty sure if you check all your black and red main cables and especially ones going to the starter ( which is where the click is coming from) then you will find out that will solve the problem. Sometimes also, after you are convinced you have cleaned all and there tight, if it does still click, then get a 1by2 and use a hammer and tap directly on the solenoid and starter. Sometimes that will trigger it to work, if not then starter/solenoid will have to be replaced. Let me know how it goes, Mike ( Dr fixya man)

Check battery cable ends on battery, clean, and tighten if needed.
could be low battery due to lose, or coroded cable ends.
it could even be starter, and relay, but start with the simplest and work your way up till you find it (testing the circut) if it is the cable ends, then you will save a lot of money.
I hope this helps you!

My 2003 ford expedition wont start all the lights and gauges turn on and a buzzing noise is coming from the fuse box

Do you know how to test automotive electrical circuits ? Using a volt meter an wiring diagram to locate problems ?
Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter vehicle info. year ,make , model and engine size . Under system click on engine , under subsystem click starting . Click the search button then the blue link . The buzzing sound you hear may be the starter relay , do you know what a relay is ? Behind the right side kick panel , this is where the front passengers right foot would be next to . Pull the plastic cover and behind is the central junction box. You can check for B+ voltage where the relay plugs in .

Key stuck in ignition of Ford Expedition. Secruilock light on when engine is off.

In my case my problem was the IGNITION STARTER SWITCH , it has an spring loaded mechanism and a little metal ball inside the switch which is the one that makes the little click when you turn the key inside the ignition switch (tumbler), somehow it got lose , but anyways I just went to my local junk yard and got me another one and presto now my key comes out of the ignition switch with no problem at all !

Does not turn over or try to crank. New starter & battery, electronics works

Can the motor be turned by the balancer bolt? do you have ignition lights? If got ignition lights & red hand (try this anyway) hold key in start position & hit dash upwards & forwards on left of steering colum if start = smartlock module problem.

On my 2003 ford expedition, on the first turn of the ignition the car would not start. I would have to turn the ignition at least 3 times for the car to start. I changed the starter but still the same...

I'd check your fuel pressure...how long has it been since the fuel filter was changed.
A restricted fuel filter or weak pump comes to mind since you've got the electrical checked...

Hope this helps...

2003 Expedition turns off while driving and check engine light stays on? Will turn right back on but 5 minutes later will turn off again?

When you have the service light come on all the time is simply indicates that there are detected error codes by the car computer that requires an attention.

It does not necessarily mean that it is a problem that will make the car not to run but you will need to get a scantoool to enable you determine what the actual issue is.

Please scan the car.

Cheers.

Remote starter

Apparently the vehicle was in park enough to get the key out, but not enough to get it to turn to start or allow the remote starter to work. Once it had been jiggled around and put ALL the way into the PARK position, all works well again!
