My brand new key wont turn the ignition.
Go to the dealer any GM dealer, give them the VIN number and they will cut you a key to that vehicle. If the ignition has been replaced with one different to the OEM, you may have to replace the whole ignition switch.
Power Steering out
If that's the only thing that stopped working, most likely it either lost a lot of fluid,or the gearbox failed.
If the steering wheel is really easy to turn, but the wheels don't,it's most likely mechanical.
Fuel gage not working
turn on and of a few time till just to see if the gauge jumps. that will tell you if its the gauge its self ( dont start engine) if it jumps(you will need to be looking at the gauge) if this is fine then it will be in the tank. tank sensors do fail they get a lot of use. bumps tank fill ups etc while driving. you need to know ruffley how much fuel you have in the tank before you start this part as you don't want to do this on and empty tank needs to be around 12 to 15 liters of fuel in the tank before you take the top off the tank. there is a inspection cover in the boot floor you need to remove this, then remove the padding under it ( if has it ) then there is the the wires to the tank and the pipes these need to be removed remembering that the pipes will have some pressure in them and you will get some fuel spill. after the spill leave it for 20 min or so then when its gone take the top off the tank you may need a tool to remove it's top. on round type I used a wood shaft and a hammer and put on the fin and tapped it round as if you taking off a bottle top. when removed the wires going to the sensor the the sensor is clipped to the side of the pump hosing just unclip it and pull out. pull off the wires at the plug to the tank top lid you may need something to push the pin in to remove the plug with the wires on and they have a lock on them so they don't fall out into the tank. when out put another on in same type and fit it all back in revers order it was taken. you dont need to remove the battery to do this job but dont turn on the ignition while doing this job.
Replaced timing chain now won't start. seems like theres no compression
did you use the locking kit to lock the engine in place so the timing marking were in the right place. if you don't use the timing kit you can some times just be a mil off and have no compression so no start. you can make a tool to lock the engine in place. now if you did not use one its going to be a bit harder to get the timing right again. you need to get the timing chain off and line the cogs back up to the timing markings on the engine and you any tool that will keep them in place while trying to put the chain back on. then turn the engine over by hand and make sure they line up on 2 full turns and marking/s out you will need to restart it again with the chain off until it lines back up in place, when you think its right then put the engine back together make sure the plugs are out while doing this job as any compression will keep knocking out the timing while you are trying to set it up.
Passock Issue
It sounds like the TCC solenoid malfunctioned. The Torque Converter Clutch solenoid is a small electrical switch in the valve body of your transmission that controls the amount of "lock-up" on the torque converter. It sounds disasterous, but its actually an easy fix, and does not require removal of the transmission.
Saturn Ion Passlock & Service Engine
I would check the brake fluid for one. And if any brake work was done in the near past. Might have air in the lines, so bleed the brake system.
No ignition no ACC
The key won't turn on the radio or the heater blower won't turn on , etc when the key is turned on? If the headlights will come on, I'd suspect a bad ignition switch.
Popping and squeaking sound
The popping sound could be UV joints. But hard to tell if one cannot hear them. Worse case scenario, transmission going. The squeaking sound is probably your struts. The upper strut bearings are probably worn, and that could mean the struts are worn too. Depends on the mileage on your vehicle. The springs twist when under stress and this is what the upper bearing is for. In good shape, it would not make any sounds.
