No you have to remove the outer belts to get to the inner belts

Could be a lot of things. First check to see if any vacuum lines have been disconnected because of the backfiring. Next scan the computer to see what codes are in the system.

Check all your fuses, if ok...chances are you blew a computer. Last option is try to disconnect the battery, take both terminals on the harness side and touch them together for a min or so. This will drain any capacitors and essential wipe minor driveability settings stored in ecm

1, Use fob to unlock and immediately open passenger door. This will give you access to bonnet release switch.
2, Open bonnet and remove 25AMP Door lock fuse
3, Spray WD40 on key- place in drivers door lock and gently try to open and close- do not use force. Half remove key and spray more WD40 into barrell. Keep gently playing until you can lock and unlock using key
4, Replace 25AMP fuse
5, It worked for me- hopefully for you also

Bad news. You have probably bent the valves in the head. When the belt was removed it was not at TDC and the marks not lined up. New engine or rebuild. Sorry....
