2006 Saturn VUE - high-pitched whine above 25 mph
What you do, is take it to a shop and you drive and have someone ride with you to diagnose the issue. You never leave a veh at a shop with out a road test and a mech or tech that has some interest in finding the problems. Also run it on the lift in the shop to see if it can be duplicated. Preferablely on rollers on the ground, such as a dyno machine,, so as not to harm the drive axles, if that applies to your veh.

I have a '06 saturn vue 4cyl. the battery died
Sounds like your IAC (Idle Air Control) valve may not be functioning properly, although not at all related to a battery change.
Are you getting a check engine light? If yes, then take it to any auto-parts store for a free scan to determine any fault.

2006 Saturn vue, 4 cylinder. Ran out of gas, couple gallons put in, ran fine. Went to gas station filled up full. Driving home, noticed my reduced power indicator flashed a few times on then off. Once
reduced power , electronic throttle control problem .
Reduced Engine Power Mode
When the ECM detects a condition with the TAC system, the ECM may enter a reduced engine power mode. Reduced engine power may cause one or more of the following conditions:
• Acceleration limiting--The ECM will continue to use the accelerator pedal for throttle control; however, the vehicle acceleration is limited.
• Limited throttle mode--The ECM will continue to use the accelerator pedal for throttle control; however, the maximum throttle opening is limited.
• Throttle default mode--The ECM will turn off the throttle actuator motor and the throttle will return to the spring loaded default position.
• Forced idle mode--The ECM will perform the following actions:
- Limit engine speed to idle by positioning the throttle position, or by controlling the fuel and spark if the throttle is turned off.
- Ignore the accelerator pedal input.
• Engine shutdown mode--The ECM will disable fuel and de-energize the throttle actuator.

2006 saturn vue rough idle
Look at tube from air cleaner filter back to the engine ,make sure there are no splits in the intake tube , air getting past the mass air sensor sends bad signals to the ecm.
