Having a no crank no start so click issue in a 1994 murcery tracer. Need help please.

Do you get a clicking noise or a buzzing noise. If its a clicking noise then it a power problem (battery, cables) If it a buzzing noise -- need new solenoid (between battery and starter).

We changed the water pump and timing belt on the car, now it will not crank. What could be the issue?

Make sure you have everything connected back up. Check battery cable connections for a clean tight connection. Check the small black with red stripe wire on the starter for power with the key held in start position. If it has power, have the starter tested. If no power on the wire in start, suspect the clutch start switch on the clutch pedal if a manual transmission, or the neutral/park switch near the gear shifter if an automatic.

I was driving my '94 Mercury Tracer 1.9 when it suddenly died, like it ran out of gas or something, and it just will not start up. Any ideas on what could be the problem? We have changed the water pum

Sudden no starts are usually gas or spark (ignition) related. If you spray some starting fluid into the intake and it fires up briefly, then you know it is a fuel problem- a bad fuel pump, or less often a fault in the fuel injection circuit. If the engine doesn't respond to the starting fluid, check for spark on a spark plug wire with the engine cranking. Purchase a cheap spark tester at a parts store. It's easy to check for spark this way, and no chance of getting a shock. Another way is to pull off a wire from a plug, take out the spark plug and reattach to the plug wire. Lay the spark plug on a metal piece of engine, where the plug threads are touching metal. That grounds the plug. Now have your helper be cranking the engine over while you watch for a strong blue spark at the spark plug tip. If you have a blue spark consistently, you can assume the ignition is working properly. Post back with what you find or for more help.

I replaced the starter on a 1994 Mercury Tracer now I am getting a continuous hot feed when the key is in the on position. Need help troubleshooting the problem

Sounds like you may have a bad starter relay, possibly shorted out..what you want to do is locate the relay, under hood on one of the inner fenders, follow the positive battery cable to find it.you should only have power from battery cable connection.pull the small red and black wire off, and test for power on that wire with key on, test while wire is fisconnected.you should only have power there when you try to start the engine. Get back to me after you check this

Car will turn over but not start, getting fuel to the valve next to the injectors

Takes 3 things to get a car to start. Fuel, Compression, Ignition. Sometimes just because you were low on fuel you believed you were out. The problem may have been elsewhere. Check spark to insure you have the ignition part down too. If you have fuel to the rail then the problem lies with another component. Timing, sensors, rotor if equipped, plug wires, or there is compression which is least likely. Good luck and check for engine codes. :)

No spark from plugs or coil,

Have ECM checked for any stored codes, may give you an idea of what might be at fault.

No heat. Temp gauge barely moves, but hoses to/from core are hot

If the temp. gauge on the instrument panel is OK, test and eventually replace the temperature sender, and check the wiring to temperature sender.

Replacing the whole heater core is not a simple operation, test sender and wiring first.
