How do I replace the motor mounts on my 96 thunder...
Put the car on ramps and set e brake.
Use engine hoist to lift engine weight off of car.
Remove mount to engine bolts, remove mount nut.
Lift engine just enough to remove mounts and install new.
Watch exhaust, fuel lines and transmission mount while lifting. They may have to be loosened or moved.

Where is the blower motor switch located
On some vehicles the switch is called the blower motor resistor. There is some confusion about whether you are missing fan speed or the A/C chilling the air.
For the chilling part, this is controlled by 2 pressure sensors in the system called a low pressure switch and a high pressure switch. The rpm of the engine can affect when stuff begins to work and when it cuts out. There is a correct amount of Freon needed for every system. The engine rpm contributes to the available amount of pressure in the Freon system. This is why some things are different from start-up to when the car is moving.
You need to do a pressure check for the Freon in the system. This can help indicate if a pressure switch is cutting off cooling power. For the fan speed, it is the blower motor resistor, a troublesome switch that has lagged behind technical improvements.
So you have 2 answers-1 for fan speed and the other about cooling functions. You can fix either separately as half the system can be good and the bad half is stopping all of it from cooling the car. Hope this helps

Mine also says check engine and has trouble codes
A Chilton/Haynes manual for your vehicle has the codes. Will also give other ideas on cause for non-passage of emissions. It could be as simple as a good tune-up (new plugs, wires, etc), or as spendy as new catalytic converter.

My car has no pressure in the cooling system.
Do you have a coolant reservoir? Does the coolant level rise as the engine warms up and lowers as the engine cools off? If so, the engine cooling system is sealed. If the system isn't sealed, when it is cooling, it can't draw coolant from the reservoir. Does the radiator have a radiator cap, with cold engine, remove the cap, can you see coolant level in radiator?
How hot does engine get in degrees F? There is your thermostat and radiator cap. Water boils at 212 degrees f atmospheric pressure. With a 16 lb radiator cap, it should raise the boiling point about 32 degrees. The boiling point should be around 250 degrees F. w/o any pressure, I would suspect it would boil over in a hurry.

1996 Ford Thunderbird LX V8 Automatic Transmission shudder
Check rear emergency brakes if you have 4 wheel discs. When soot and brake lining fall to bottom of assembly they jam and shudder until wheels start rolling fast enough to scatter debris.
Also if posi equipped there is a needed rear-end additive to help clutch plates work. Perhaps clean rear-end lube and additive is needed.

1996 Ford Thunderbird V8 4.6L Idles High
check your throttle body make sure all the springs are connected. your throttle body may be nasty inside and may need cleaning, it may be getting stuck. Throttle cable could be sticking or disconnected (there are two one pulls and one returns to idle IIRC)
also you should really search www.tccoa.com and become a member there if you are not already.

1996 Ford Thunderbird LX -
I'm afraid you have the deluxe system,my friend. It has 2 electronic circuit boards that may be going bad. Very expensive unless you can find used or aftermarket.
I hope it's just the blower motor, but I had the other thing happen and I had to wire around it,losing my AUTO temp and blower control. don-ohio
