1999 Dodge Ram Questions & Answers
My ram 1500 2w drive
Is there any check engine light on ? It sounds like your transmission is slipping ! Pre 2004 dodge trucks mainly had the the 46re trans wich requires service every 30k wich includes adjustimg the primary and secondary bands ! With my experience this never gets done and leads to transmission problems ! At this point the damage is done so you can try some things - first flush the transmission and drop the pan and have the bands adjusted and put in a new filter , refill with atf plus 4 fluid only and substitute 1 qaurt of fluid with lucas trans treatment and add greased lighting additive and drive for several days ! I did this on a dodge truck i bought that was having problems and it fixed the majority of the problems a computer update fixed the remainder of the problems and she has been running perfect since !
Where will i find the ground wire on my 1999 dodge ram 2wd? My truck will not start just wh.ines over
ground straps usually attatch to firewall, and frame to the block, most veh have atleast 2 start by looking at frame and firewall for broken ******** either. however you can add one by simply finding a bolt on either frame or firewall, and attatch to and from bolt on block make sure the bolts don't hv plastic or rubber though so it will make good contact. (however if it's just whining, that sounds like the bendix is bad in the starter) have you tried replacing the starter?
TURN SIGNAL FLASHER LOCATION FOR 1999 RAM 2500 HOW
Hello Patty - Check the back side of the interior fuse box, should be between the steering column and the fuse box. You should be able to hear it "click" when in use. Most 2500 Rams had a flasher unit that was trailer ready. You may not need this upgrade. I hope this helps.
1999 Dodge Ram 360 5.8 liter engine feels like transmission is sl
Hi, the problem you are having sounds like the differential needs replacing this can be expensive and hard work but not doing this can cause further damage to your vehicle so its better get it done sooner rather than later.
If on the other hand your only getting a vibration through the steering wheel then this could be that the wheels need balancing.
You should know which of the two problems you have if you need further assistance then just let me know ok
No dome light or radio
It's the IOD fuse. Trust me, I just fixed the exact problem on my '98 not ten minutes ago. The fuse is located in the fuse box inside the driver's side door. It will be the fuse on the bottom and toward the front of the panel with a black cover over it. Just pull the fuse holder straight out and snap the hinged cover forward to expose the fuse. Just a standard 10 amp automotive fuse and you're back in business!
