99 olds culass headlight bulb replacement
Look at the top of the headlight assembly. There is a plastic panel on top of the assembly that is held in place by two plastic pins. Remove those pins by lifting the center of the pin and then pull out the pin. Remove the panel. Then you will find two small plastic levers that will lift about 1/2 inch. They do not come out but they will release two studs that secure the assembly. After the assembly is released, slide it forward to access the bulbs you need to replace. Installation is the reverse of these procedures.

1999 oldsmobile cutlass computer will not communicate with car
When the motor was replaced , was the original PCM changed as well ? Did you have the anti-theft system programmed . Theft - system light on -DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes are stored . Need a factory or professional scan tool read these codes . The other computers on the vehicle will communicate . BCM
Important: Due to component variability, the vehicle theft deterrent (VTD) system must have the learn procedure performed regardless, if the vehicle starts on the first ignition cycle after a VTD repair.
All codes in the theft deterrent module must be cleared for a relearn.
The vehicle theft deterrent system is designed in order to prevent vehicle theft by disabling the fuel injectors unless the lock cylinder is correctly engaged by a mechanical key. The theft deterrent system uses the following 4 components for theft prevention:
• The lock cylinder
• The ignition switch
• The body control module (BCM)
• The powertrain control module (PCM)
When starting the engine, the PCM searches for a password from the BCM through the Class 2 serial data circuit. If the password is not recognized or not present, the PCM will disable the engine. Two modes of tamper detection are provided:
• No password received
The engine will start and stall quickly. SECURITY telltale will flash on the instrument panel cluster (IPC) and then stay ON steady.
• Incorrect or disable password received (More than 3 invalid passwords are received)
The engine is disabled for at least 10 minutes and the SECURITY telltale will illuminate solid on the IPC during the 10 minutes.
After the vehicle has passed theft detection, the PCM will continue normal operation.

Does pin # 16 at the DLC have B+ voltage ?
1999 0ldsmobile Cutless Anti Theft
The lock cylinder contains the theft system sensor. A faulty sensor is most likely causing you problem. if it is scanned There should be a fault code b2960 stored in the theft system. I hope this helps.
1998 Olds Cutlass- electronics sometimes possessed?
Sorry yadayada ! BCM has nothing to do with these systems . Could possibly be a ground issue or they share a power supply ! Red brake light an ABS light lit on the instrument cluster , these are probably related ! Have check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . Brake lights an HVAC blower motor have different grounds . After looking at a wiring diagram and seeing where B+ voltage comes from the ignition switch . The brake light an ABS light come on when the EBCM - electronic brake control module looses B+ voltage . I 'm just taking a guess here but it could be an igition swith problem . Take it an have it checked , Test don't guess !
Cannot find coolant drain plug
It is located at bottom of radiator, you will need 1/2 inch square drive or a 3/16 inch hex drive to open drain valve. Usually on pass. side at bottom end of radiator.
How to change the starter on a 1999 Oldsmobile Cutlass
Lift car on jack stands, disconnect the car battery and while under car you will find two bolts that hold it heat shield on front and back of starter. After removing the heat shield, this will give you access to the bolt against the engine on top. Two other bolts easy to get to. Disconnect wires to starter and then remove bolts. Install in opposite procedure
How do i find the short from the 4 hole 3 wire plug from the alternator? new alt and new batt but alt keeps getting super hot when that is plugged in?
You really need a wiring diagram for your car before you can properly check the wiring.
There are a number of possibilities and not all of them are a short circuit.
Your car might have a separate voltage regulator and could have originally been fitted with with various charging systems depending on trim level and possible supply problems.
One further possibility is as the supply of alternators with an integrated voltage regulator increased and the price reduced it wasn't unusual for subsequent alternator changes to result in the minor modifications to the wiring and an integrated unit fitted.
You need to know these things...
Finding short in wire from altenater to battery
The temperature of the alternator is not read by the engine temperature gage. It gets hot because it is most likely trying to charge a battery that is failing, have it electronically tested by a auto parts store like Autozone or others, it is a free test.
When I start the car and put it into drive the horn goes on, when I shut the car off the horn sounds! wont go off until I disconnect the battery
You could pull the horn fuse, that should kill it. The horn fuse is hot all the time. Two possibilities, one is security system, the other is problem with horn switch or wiring in the steering column.
The horn switch is ground for the control side of horn relay. Part of key fob security horn beep, is also a ground wire. In the diagram, you can see the two wires, The one for fob, take it loose, see if that stops the horn sounding by accident. Don't leave any live wires hanging loose, use electrical tape or something to insulate. I don't know if taking that one wire loose will cause any problems or not, I guess you can try it and see?
Of course, you still want the horn switch to work normally.
