My 2000 Firebird 3.8 v6 has an awful squealing
Hi, Check if the pulleys are lined up correctly maybe before you had it someone changed a pully & it is not the correct one, hence out of line or one pulley is damaged, but by what you state. I am sure you would have noted something wrong on one of the pulleys if a weld was split or bent one side of a pulley. Please send me feedback to

Wont go into overdrive> and wont take off in
You have to scan it. The transmission is shifted by the computer and if it detects a problem, it defaults to 2nd gear and will not shift.
Can't do anything more without codes.

Stuck or clogged EGR valve. Remove it and clean best you can. After that you can test with a scanner or replace it.
Why is smoke coming out of where i put oil in car
Most likely engine blow by or more precisely ring blow by. All engines have blow by, the PCV valve normally handles this but as the rings and bore ware the blow by increases.
Check that the PVC valve is operating correctly.
