You probably blew a fuse. Find your owners manual and locate the fuse box that contains the fuses the protect the seats. You probably have a bare wire under the seat which when grounded shorted the system causing the fuse to blow. The same fuse could also control the door locks and other systems. you will smell the freon not the leak detector ,some of the stories i hear but thats a new one on me ,anyway i think you might have a dead something inside it or leaves but you will need to remove the dash unit to get at anything .Another common cause is previous owner a chain smoker ,build up of nicotine over time and this forms a claggy film ,horrible ,,,, now one way which might work if you can see both units is a spray with brake and clutch cleaner ,this is highly inflamabe to wait for it to dry before starting car and usinbg blower .
