How to remove the headrests from the driver and

Remove the storage tray from the back of the driver and passenger seats. This can be a trick in itself. You have to squeeze together some body style clips with needle nose pliers going in from the bottom where the tray section meets the seat fabric. When you get the right and left hand side clips free the tray panel should just tilt out at bottom. Then just slide the whole tray panel up and then you can pull it out. Now you can get to the head rests. From the inside of the seat you can see the 2 head rest posts that connect to the cushion portion of it. Follow the 2 posts up until you see the black plastic sleeves they slide in. Take some channel locks and grab the black sleeves and turn them (they only turn one way) until the cut outs in the bottom of the sleeves are facing the front and rear of the van rather than the right and left sides. Once these are turned you can easily lift the whole head rest out.

What damage can be done by the alternator over

If overcharging to much can damage the computer and burn up the battery, if the battery is a service free battery then it could boil the water out and if their is a spark it could cause the battery to explode. Most free maintenance batteries are not maintenance free, they can still have water added to them and need cleaning from time to time as the posts corrode up.

2007Uplander van wont engage to start. Battery good new starter alternator serpentine belt van dash lights come on turn the key to start then nothing at all no lights no key in ignition bell. dead

Either the battery is no good or there is a faulty connection. You must take a careful closer look at both battery cables. One of them may be damaged at either end. The wires may be corroded, frayed or loose. An eyelet may be loose or coated with corrosion and is loosing contact with the engine block, battery terminal or fender. Please check your repairs carefully and let me know if there is anything else. Good Luck.

Condensate drain location

Look way up under the dash, near the end of the carpet. What you are looking for is (usually) a black hose, thicker than a vacuum line, but less than a heater hose, for example. What happens is a passenger unknowingly kicks the hose off the heater/AC box, then it leaks out. The hose is a hand press fit. Rarely have I found the hose plugged. If that happened, you would likely have a complaint of fluid being blown out the a/c vents. Doc

2007 Chev Uplander 3.9 Could ECM need replaced? Where is it located?

This is not that clean cut, ECM failure is not that common. The battery died and that caused the no start. This could also account for the setting of that code because of loss of field charge in the alternator. A dealership can write off parts that are not bad, if they did not do the work, you are stuck with the parts. ECM is not cheap. I would check the CPS first.

2007 Chev Uplander 3.9 Could ECM need replaced? Where is it located?

Without testing we'd only be guessing ! You have no idea of the complexity of the electronics on your vehicle . Replacing the ECM would mean a trip back to the dealer to have it programmed . Without programming your vehicle will never start . You had new battery an alternator installed , did it start an run when you picked it up. The charging system on your vehicle is computer controlled . DTC P0621 DTC P0621 : Generator L-Terminal Circuit The engine control module (ECM) uses the generator turn ON signal circuit to control the load of the generator on the engine. A high side driver in the ECM applies a voltage to the voltage regulator. This signals the voltage regulator to turn the field circuit ON and OFF. The ECM monitors the state of the generator turn ON signal circuit. The ECM should detect low voltage on generator turn on signal circuit when the ignition is ON and the engine is OFF, or when the charging system malfunctions. With the engine running, the ECM should detect high voltage on the generator turn on signal circuit. The ECM performs key ON and RUN tests to determine the status of the generator turn on signal circuit. Your best bet take it back to the dealer .
