Firing order in 1500cc motor

#1 plug is closest to the front. Take off distributor cap. Remove #1 plug. You want to crank engine until #1 cylinder is on compression stroke. Watch to see direction the distributor rotor is turning. As the compression stroke starts then bring the engine to top dead center by aligning timing mark on crak shaft pulley with pointer. The #1 plug wire goes in the distributor cap hole the rotor is pointing. The #2 wire in the next hole following the direction the rotor turned. Then the #4 wire and finally #3. Firing order 1-2-4-3.

1975 mg midget clutch problems

One thing to try before replacing the clutch and pressure plate. The brake fluid absorbs water, the brake fluid gets hot ( line near exhaust ) then turns to steam and acts like you have your foot on clutch pedal causing the clutch to slip. Flush the old fluid out. Bleed and try it out. I do recommend using dot5 fluid as it is silicon based. Does not absorb water and works at higher temperatures. If this fails and the clutch master and slave cylinders are working then its time to pull the eng/trans and replace clutch and pressure plate. Also the thought came to me about the thrust bearings on the crakshaft. They will cause clutch problems.

I have a 1976 MG Midget that is haveing issues with shifting from a stop into first gear or second gear or when put into reverse. My question is what would be causeing this?

The clutch fluid should be clear. You could have air in the system. I would try to flush the system with new fluid and bleed it. Also consider dot5 fluid as it is silicon based and does not absorb water. The clutch normally engages towards the top of the pedal. I do not believe your clutch is completely disengaging.

Fuse keeps blowing 1964 mgb no taillights signals brake lights or speedo or tach

You have a short in the wiring harness. I would start by looking in the trunk only because that is the easiest place to see it. If the car has been stored then its under the dash looking for mice chewing. This is part of the fun owning a classic British car. PS I like the color.
