2017 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk mirror replaced with new Kool Vue and the turn signal light on the mirror is constantly blinking and yes the turn signal is off.

Obviously there is a connection wiring problem. Jeeps monitor / control all mirror functions using control module(s). It sounds like a connection inside the mirror is either mis-connected, or has confused the control module into keeping a connection on that should be off. Your only recourse is to get Kool Vie tech to explain the problem, replace the mirror, or return the mirror. It does not bode well that neither their web site ( http://www.kool-vue.com/ ) nor their Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/KoolVue ) are working. Frankly, I'd go for return and then scour ebay or Rockauto for an OEM mirror.

I have a 1995 jeep grand cherokee limited with 4.0l motor that won't start, please see my details below.

is this a USA jeep or export? (immo differences) we do not know what turn over means. in this case you meant engine cranks fast and will not start. Changing out the CKP was a bad idle. 1 of 4 , engine, 4L (veries but unstated trans) must be calibrated or its wrecked at the first turn of CRAnking . So be ready for 2 causes of dead spark is that fun ,no. this is what you did wrong, if compression is ok. 1: check all fuse first. we test all ones that look ok. see? 2: then we scan it cranking, or all this is hopeless, see why? it will tell you why there is no spark, but you skipped step 2. 3: not only that but you didnt check the ASD relay. if its not pulling in the PCM is telling you why. if its pulling in and dropping out, then pcm tells you why. if ASD holds in full time cranking PCM is happy in this regard. there 6 to 8 reason for ASD to drop. one is immoblizer upset. I will stop here, as spark needs to be corrected. here is the no start page. spark dead help, knowing that. sparks dead so no need to read the no start page, we go right to ASD tests see the 8 ways? (yours will be less than 8, for 1993) http://jeepdied.com/ASD.html this is the only tool i know that scans 93/95s https://www.amazon.com/INNOVA-3120-Diagnostic-Reader-Vehicles/dp/B000KID2ZC/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1395411804&sr=1-1&keywords=INNOVA+3120 nowt the alarm VTA deal. The ZJ 1993-1995 VTA does not cut the engine via ASD (IMMO) in the USA, but in Europe it does (if opted there) see its really the world wide web, and ive no clue where you are or what engine you have. nor options like VTA (T is for theft)

95 with 5.2L . Engine cranks will not start.

if it starts using ether, it suggests a clogged fuel filter. You need to know what the true psi value is across the fuel rail. you can rent kit from major auto parts stores. be it remembered that many cars nowfays have 2 fuel filters- one in tank and one on frame or firewall. a quick check is back pump air through your fuel line till you hear bubbling. recheck fuel pressure and note diffetence. if it goes up you probably icked up larger debris on the screen.

1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.2l cranks but won't start - outdoor temperature dependent.

How old is the battery? Older ones can get weaker over the years when they are under strain. Especially on a big V8. Go to a battery specialist and they can test it 'under load' to see if it's strong enough. When you turn the key does it catch, miss and die or does it just wind? Does it idle roughly once started? Please use the 'Comment' button below with the answers if you can Try putting a dose of good quality injector cleaner through it. Put the cleaner in and just let the vehicle idle for 10 minutes. That way you get a stronger cleaning mixture going through the injectors.

2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee. installing New radio origin jeep.

Some manufacturers can flash the system as long as the BCM and the Gateway recognize the software. in most cases, you would need a GPS antenna, that comes with the kit. Sometimes the antenna is already installed and just not used, sometimes it is sold separately. So make sure you have everything installed that is required first. Next, verify that there aren't any fuses or relays that need to be installed. A lot of the times, install kits will come with specific instructions for your YMM that will indicate if you need to "Wake up" a circuit by providing power to it through a fuse or relay. After verifying all is ok, you need a flash module and a subscription to the dealer software, which is typically accessed via laptop. The only other way to flash the system is through an audio installer, and if that doesn't work, then you will need to replace the module for one that is programmed to use the GPS functions and recognize the new head unit.

P1281 code for 2004 jeep grand cherokee freedom

It is not always the T-Stat or sensor! Sorry to revive this old thread, but I have not found this answer anywhere and had to figure it out myself. I Thought it might help somebody else, particularly when a lot of us are not driving as much these days. Low Battery Voltage, due to short trips (Incomplete charging or weak alternator), may affect P1281 and misfiring too. I have had a random misfires for so long that I just clear the codes from time to time. I might not see them for weeks or month at a time, sometime every day or so. Serendipitously, I was going to be away from my jeep for a week and put it on a NOCO 1 amp Minder/Desulfator/Charger. When I got back, I cleared the codes and found P1281 which was new. After charging, no new codes have popped up. So, I started plugging it in every day and my intermittent start up fast idle went away. My temp gauge was not randomly reading low (which was a recent development fitting code P1291) Misfires never seemed to be cylinders that shared a coil (last time it was 1,4 and 6) Over the years, I had already changed the plugs twice (once back to the factory recommended plug), checked the injector circuits, replaced the injectors. Just before last inspection, I Changed the fuel filter/regulator (which magically cleared the codes by itself immediately!) Replaced the Cam sensor (I had a code at the time, my first one several years ago) It is an I6 and has always seemed rough to me. I chalked it up to being and I6, LOL. But my wife felt the difference with the new Filter/Regulator! It has only been 10 days of keeping the battery topped off, but with the temp gauge behaving I am cautiously optimistic. I have read that code P1291 does not always show up under these conditions, So we will see. I know from experience that my 1998 Ram 360 would not idle after it needed a jump until it ran a while with a foot on the gas. My 1998 ZJ 318 is the same. I chalked it up to the voltage being too low to fire the ignition. But I figured once it was running there would be no problem and in those V8 vehicles I never got a misfire or P1281 code. When I would get Misfire codes in my I6 2000 WJ, it always seemed to be right around when it would be going into closed loop, sometimes going in to limp mode just as I was trying to get on the freeway, that was always fun. So IF it comes down to short trip incomplete battery recharge I will be happy, but sad that it hadn't occurred to me sooner.

2001 4.7l diesel. Does it have a limited slip differential?

4wd or NOT, 2wd, but 4wd both ends match. well , not wanting to pulled cover off and have GL5 lube all over or #2 googling for all Jeep axle codes. (your call) there is no CHEVY RPO code build list\ #3you call jeep dealer give VIN and he tells build list to you. or the tests. #4 put car in 2wd, but one rear tire on ICE or wet grass then move forward quick. (gas pedal if both tires spin car moves is Positration clutch packed rear gear set.(or lockers of many kinds) if limited slip 4 gears only then one tire on grass /ice only spins fast and car does not. there answered all 4 ways. ok way #5, rear tires off ground both, ON JACKS STAnds safe. in neutral 4wd box or. if not 4wd tranny in neutral. hand spin 1 tire and both turn same direction for locker. if it 1 spins backwards the axle is open (limited slip) open is 4 gears (side+ spider) Lockers have a locker or clutch pack just like seen in the A./T BOX. lockers have vast names. but all lock up some way. open axles means sans/locks. I love lockers. saved my bacon vast times. even pulling super heavy boats out of the ramp, and zero slip. 2 tires spin is JOY. even 2wd drive with a locker is a joy. on snow and ice too. 1 wheel drive is for squids.

The mechanic said he can't get it to show up on the computer

Jeeps, Chryslers, and Dodges are notorious for having a bad ignition fuse causing the mechanic to not be able to read the diagnostic trouble codes. If this mechanic gave you the car back and didn't attempt to fix this I would find a new mechanic.

Return the vehicle to the Uhaul dealer and demand that they repair it. It is evident, by your description, that they bungled the job. If they refuse, contact the Better Bussiness Bureau in your area and have them contact Uhaul. Most Uhaul dealers do excellent work and they have a great reputation....so try and work with the rep and they will most likely fix it for you for free this time, since they didn't get it right the first time. Best Wishes

Hi I have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The muffler fell off. and looks like wires are hanging. The Jeep won't start.

Question edited for clarity and add some full stops and commas and stuff. That was one of the longest run-on sentences! Question moved to model category. Yes, the wires are probably from the o2 sensors on the Catalytic Converter but really could be from anything. Reconnecting them should fix the starting issue.

2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. My key fob will lock the car but not unlock it?

Question edited for clarity. Question moved to Model Category. Take the fob apart and clean under the button with Switch Contact Cleaner spray. If that doesn't fix it, you need an auto electrician or an alarm installer to check operation of the fob to see it is is putting out a signal, and to check the modules that open the door and operate the security. A bi-directional scan tool computer is the only method to diagnose communication issues.

Transmission Slight Jerking When Slowing & Accelerating

Have you changed the trasmission fluid and filter in your jeep lately, if not do so and that just might stop the jerking in your jeep, and if that does not do the trick you will need to have your trasmission checked out by a trasmission shop.
