What is a cv shaft
Dear Dianne,
Under the front hood of your Honda is a motor or it is also called an engine.
The engine is hooked or fastened to a large container called a transmission, which is also under the front hood.
In order to get the car to move, there are 2 steel drive shafts going from the transmission to the front wheels.
These drive shafts are about one to 2 feet long, and each one drives a front wheel. That is why there are 2.
These steel drive shafts have a large joint at each end of them, so you see why there are 4 joints.
The joints attach to the wheel on one end and the transmission on the other end.
These 2 steel drive shafts are called cv shafts because they have a CV joint at each end, and these CV joints are a part of the shaft assembly.
The CV shafts "transfer" the movement of the engine to the wheels.
How to reset fuel pump on 1999 honda accord a/t?,
I replaced the pump on my 1999 Accord EX V6 and didn't have to reset a thing. The only problem is that the low fuel light doesn't come on every time it should. The poor idling sounds like a different problem like your TPS or the IAC solenoids. Have your local parts store pull codes for you for free if you have a check engine light on.
I am getting 13 miles per gallon. what is wrong?
Your O2 sensor (or oxygen sensor) is located on your exhaust system. One placed before your coverter to measure the efficiency of the combustion in your engine by measuring the amount of oxygen left in the exhaust stream. The second O2 sensor is placed after the converter and its job is to measure the effiecency of the converter in filtering out harmful gases in the exhaust by compairing its reading to the sensor paced before the converter. If your O2 sensor has failed it will tell the car's computer that it is running too lean (more air than fuel) by default. Since the computer thinks the car is running lean, it now is adding more fuel to the mixture to try and compensate for the lean condition and will always have a check engine light on. If there is no check engine light on then it probably is not a faulty O2 sensor. Have a qualified technician run a fuel consumption test and go from there.
A green key shaped light is flashing on the
The green key flashing means that the key you are use is not registered to the car. If you just cut a new key for your car(it has to be a honda key, not a walmat key) your honda dealer will have to program it to your car. If it's a old key, maybe the chip in the key might be bad, time for a new key. good luck.
2018 Honda Accord. How to upload images to head unit.
This question has come up on Fixya before and the issue was the file format as the poster was trying to upload as a .PNG image.
See page 277 of the Owner's Manual for EX and above trims (or page 255 for LX trims). Below is basically what you need:
Requirements:
- JPEG and/or BMP images.
- Max dimension per image is 1920 x 936 pixels.
- Max file size per image is 2 megabytes.
Importing:
- Load up the images on a USB drive.
- images must be at the root level of the USB drive.
- Connect the USB drive to your USB port.
- Select the clock on the touch screen (upper right hand corner), then select Settings.
- Follow the menus for importing wallpapers (up to 5 for EX and above, or 255 for LX trims).

91 Honda CRX HF won't crank
This may sound obvious but have you checked the battery? Batteries are generally considered old if they are over 5 years old. A battery can hold a full charge but struggle when put 'under load'. Starter motors use a lot of power to work. Get it "Load Tested" to see if it needs replacing.
