You will have to remove the player from its installed location, then disassemble it enough to remove the stuck DVD. If correct operation can be verified, reassemble the player and reinstall it.

Honda aren't noted for Mazda/Mitsubishi/Subaru/Nissan parts pricing unless they have an entirely different policy in Australia from the UK. Here they are renown for reasonable prices alongside Toyota.

Unless I am mistaken (I am not very familiar with the model), the thermostat seal is a rubber ring costing very little and usually this does not fail. Where aluminium housings are used there is a tendency for corrosion to build and push the seal from its position.

Some CR-V models have the thermostat in assembly with the housing. I don't know the OE price but there are plenty of aftermarket offerings and here the cost varies from less than £20 to less than £40 Sterling.

I suggest you do two things - get a second opinion and investigate the offerings of the local factors of aftermarket spare parts.

Could be timing chain or pistons which improve after the engine is warmed up...

If you can still see the old wires, just follow them, it should lead to the underside of the car, it will have a rubber plug with the connection on the other side

Are you getting a check engine light? If so, the sensor is rarely the problem. You need to check that the timing chain didn't skip or stretch. If it did (which is a possibility with that Honda motor 2002-2006), it needs to be serviced before driving it. If the timing's off, you can bend the valves and it's over.

Newer vehicles have fuel fileter in the gas tank, IF you are not geting any fuel, try replacing the cam position sensor.
