Fuel smell inside ford 2002 explorere when running air
Hey man odds are you have a small fuel leak under the hood probably like a pinhole in a fuel line. When you turn on the ac you are pulling air from the front of the vehicle in turn pulling in the fuel smell. Find and stop the leak and that should get rid of the smell in the cab when the ac is running.

2002 Ford Explorer 5R55W transmission had
Band adjustment is very sensitive on these units, I set both adjustments at one turn. This is a 4 speed trans that has been converted to a 5 speed by turning on the od unit ( 1-2 shift ) in first gear.the 2-3 shift is busy because the od band is coming off causing the od unit to transfer back to 1:1 and the intermediate band is coming on . I have found that if the overdrive band is to loose it will release to fast causing a flare on the 2-3 shift bot not really affecting the 4-5 (overdrive) shift. So break both band adjustments loose and tighten the adjustment screw down and back off 1 turn the tighten jam nuts. Also the fluid level should be checked with the transmission warm ( 100 f , not hot, not cold) and the fluid should stream out of the check tube. Transgo makes a really nice vb kit that i use that will help these symptoms.

Rear clunk when going over bump in ford explorer
Sometimes it takes more than a mechanic to diagnose a problem, cuz I have many trades under my belt body man and painter is one of them, check your body mount bushings, they go in between the body and the chassis in time the rubber seems to crumble and your body and chassis are touching metal to metal leaving a gap when you hit a bump it goes up and then comes down and that's the clunk you hear, hope this helps. ??
